| Arithmancy Master chapter 2 . 3/25
I like the fact that it was not Ayla who had the idea of the garden. In too many of the books, the innovations seemed to come from Ayla herself. (There were exceptions, such as soap, but that invention had taken place before Ayla arrived.)
Good that the ban was lifted and that again it was against Ayla's wishes. (I do not like her to be too perfect, always right.) It made sense that they were not allowed to drink to excess but had to exercise moderation.

Prohibition never works. It didn't work for my mother's father who died like Laramar, in 1958. Sadly, it will never work, anytime, among any people. That said, Yes, kids can be quiet, even though they are kids. I've seen it done. There is a time and a place for everything, though, and in this particular instance, the kids were within their rights to be kids. Finally, damn good story, well-written and entertaining. :D
