|Reviews for Analog|
| Thescarredman chapter 1 . 12/30/2012
Nice essay on the development of consciousness. I once had a character in one of my stories, a computer expert, say that an AI programmed to imitate humans perfectly would have to know us better than we know ourselves.
Another aspect of the analog/digital divide you've been pondering: digital instruments measure quantities, but analog devices measure changes in state. How would that fit into your conception of the machines and Skynet?
| Lyaksandra chapter 1 . 2/13/2011
A great analysis of the why of things.
A very good answer to why Skynet does what it does, like a quote from the movie "Kingdom of Heaven": I am what I am, someone has to be.
Maybe one day Skynet will grow away from her preconceived paradigms.
Another and sort of similar way to look at things is AI rampancy.
You should really come back to these parts.
| Chris St Thomas chapter 1 . 3/28/2008
a very excellent essay
not much of a story though. reminds me of arthur c clarke's space odyssey series (2001, 2010, 2061, 3001) fine creations all, but more essay than story.
| Anna Mack Callen chapter 1 . 3/28/2008
It was a rambling existential mess that I completely enjoyed reading.
Highly intelligent and very thought-provoking.
