This is fantastic. I absolutely loved it. The way you set up the story, how you separated Sam and Dean with one injured and one sleep deprived to exhaustion. We knew it was bad before you got to the part where the Manitou was after Sam and Dean was 400 miles away. Having to coach Sam through the moves over the phone was a new one for Dean, and really changed how he had to go about talking to his brother who kept drifting off. It was great to see that different mode of caring. It came through perfectly.
| M chapter 1 . 1/1/2013
You know, I read this story for the first time years and years ago. I instantly loved it and I have come back and read it again for a few times over the years but I have never commented. I don't know why I never felt like up to it, maybe just because I'm just lazy.
However, I just wanted you to know that even if this fic was written in 2008, I still love it in 2013 (holy Hell, that's the first time I typed 2013... How the time flies!) I think the rhythm of this story, the tempo, the dialogue, the suspense, everything works so brilliantly I have rarely seen a fic this great written by any other author.
I'm not sure if you'll ever notice/read this comment but I just wanted you to know that I still love this story to bits and I thank you for writing it!

Extremelysleepy!Sam is awesome.
| emilyelmo chapter 1 . 11/26/2011
Yay! They're home safe! Woo-hoo!
Ahem. I'm sluggish myself, because my best friend and a couple other girls came over for a sleepover and we didn't get any sleep at all. *yawn* But it was FUN. A lot of laughing and watching movies and whacking each other with pillows and my stuffed animals, because we haven't outgrown that yet and probably never will. But great as it was, I'm so TIRED. And suffering from post-sleepover depression (not unlike post-Christmas depression, but on a slightly milder scale.
If you got my PM you'd know I wasn't going to review, but I am, so whatever. Am I making sense?
Anyhow, great piece of writing. Loved the end bit. And the drive home with out-of-it Sammy Boy. And I think I'll go now. Bye!

So...lots to say about this on.
First and foremost, where in the world do you come up with all of these fascinating creatures? Seriously?
Second off you are the reason why it takes me so dang long to write my own SPN fiction, not just because I want it to be good and moving and memorable like yours, but because in the middle of a story related thought process I usually remember something from one of your other amazing tales, but I can't remember it exactly word for word, so of course I have to find it and re-read it and then after I read one I convince myself just one more, and seven hours later I am cursing you and loving you at the same time :P
Thirdly, you described sleep deprived Sam perfect! I had a terrible bout of insomnia a couple of years ago after a tragedy and this is completely how you are. Living zombie, conversation you can't quite remember and of course add a car to that and the terrifying possibilities are endless. So bravo for that!
Lastly, this was so good! It is a story that I have read around because I just didn't have the time to digest it, I would have had to speed read, and I am so glad I waited, totally worth it. You are just magnificent, and everytime I get to read something by you it is a treat. As a matter of fact I'm off to read "While you were gone" in just a few minutes because plotting for one of my stories has sparked a line or two from this tale and I must! Great job all the way around :D

The ending was soooooooo cute! I've been reading a lot of your fics lately and i just wanted to say that they're all amazing, you're a brilliant writer

I really like this story. I like sleepy Sam :). You did a great job with this.
| SunnyZim chapter 1 . 4/25/2010
I loved this! My friend Wallflowergirl recommended it to me as a good one and it certainly didn't disappoint:-) I loved Dean's keeping Sam awake by talking to him the whole time and I loved what Sam said to Dean at the end - it warmed my heart:) Also, your description of a sleep-deprived person was very realistic - I could feel myself wanting to doze off along with Sam! And sleep-deprived Sam? Simply adorable;) Loved his comment when Dean told him where he could put the Impala!

| Gohanzgirl chapter 1 . 9/29/2009
I absolutely loved your writing! This was an amazing feat of fanfiction. And as I myself have been staving off sleeping for over 17 hours this fic has made me completely exhausted. So your name I bookmark and then sleep it is for me!
| Whilom chapter 1 . 7/23/2009
This was a unique idea, but really commonplace at the same time-a theme that everybody has dealt with at some point, but that I hadn't put connected with Supernatural, probably because Dean always seems so confident and self-assured with his car and he's always the one driving. I loved the connectedness between the brothers even through the tentative phone connection, especially the way Dean grew more vulnerable as Sam did through the age-regression of the sleep-deprived.
| Erin Cider chapter 1 . 5/25/2009
Ah, love this. Days without sleep, and then hugging the bed for hours and hours - really connected with Sammy there. And the ending - made me feel all fluffy and warm.
| chiselchest chapter 1 . 4/13/2009
Fantastic read! Utterly enjoyed the brotherly love. And gosh tired Sammy is cute. :D
Anyways, really Great Job!
| Nana56 chapter 1 . 3/1/2009
I have so driven like that! It didn't take being awake for that long either, but I sure was fighting right along with Sam to stay awake. Those darn rumble strips have saved more lives than anyone could believe.
I loved the very last part. That exchange between the two should be read by Dean and Sam these days, huh?
| BlueSea14 chapter 1 . 1/7/2009
Ah, poor dumb Sammy-not sleeping for so long is a really stupid idea when on the job. And he really should have taken Caleb up on his offer-it's just like Sam not to do that. :) Very good job-I liked the hunt they were on, and the wrap-up of the situation. I also liked seeing Caleb. I always wish we could see more of John's old friends in the series, and we never really got to know Caleb considering he died about two mintues after popping up on screen.
