Awww, poor Vinnie... *hugs* You have done a marvellous job of depicting the full scale of his distress and the causes of it, followed by his waking inner turmoil re. his feelings for Charley. This is also an excellent explanation for how come Vinnie, for all that he was supposedly a ladies' man, was apparently so inept at flirting with Charley or endearing himself to her in a romantic context - your answer being that he was deliberately sabotaging himself to avoid reliving his grief for Harley if something happened to his Charley-girl. Nicely done! :)

I'm completely with Vinnie on all these points. McCyber was a piece of work on the show. Anyhow, you have brilliantly captured the spirit of Vinnie's jealousy, and his grounds for feeling such - nice one! :)

Oh, boy... we've all had days where we've done something we later looked back on with horror and / or disgust. This one is clearly Throttle's, poor guy. This chapter is a very well-written depiction of the aftermath of such. :)

Ten years back, I had a friend who accidentally introduced me to her dad - and he acted around me in a similar fashion to your OC Ryan Davidson, i.e. shoving a shotgun in my face, threatened to kill me in relation to his little princess, etc., and generally behaved like an obnoxious alpha male arsehole suffering from a testosterone overdose.

I reacted by disarming him, dislocating both of his shoulders, breaking one of his knees, breaking every finger and thumb he had, then hogtied him and forced him to watch while I put his prize motorcycle [a Harley Davidson, as it happens - ironic, no?] and gun collection in a junkyard car crusher and smashed them all flat. Then I kicked him repeatedly in the nuts: I was wearing steel-toed combat boots, and apparently he pissed blood for the next two years. His knee is still frakked up, too, even today. I had captured his shoving a shotgun in my face and death threats on video, and threatened to post them online if he ever whined to anyone about how crap went down that day. He's behaved much more civilly towards everyone ever since.

Someone shoving a gun in your face and threatening to kill you for ANY reason, especially when you have done nothing to provoke them? That person deserves exactly the same treatment, so far as I'm concerned. It is not cutesy or endearing or folksy or charming: it's called being a giant douchebag, and a borderline-psychotic asshole. And that's what Ryan Davidson is in this chapter.

...the idea of Charley building a BFG has me almost drooling in delight! :D Please please please could she do so in a future chapter?

I think you've nailed this one perfectly - both in terms of the horrific nature of the scars Vinnie hides under his mask, his reasons for doing so, Charley's reasons for her reaction, and the manner in which you have presented this scenario to drive home the full scale of these scars' abominable origins. *hugs*
