| T.S. Quint chapter 1 . 9/15/2009
This was great! The Rob Lowe/St. Elmo's fire joke almost made me fall out of my chair!
This totally rang true to the style of the Clerks cartoon. Kudos man!

Wow, this was incredible. You have the dialogue pattern down perfectly, I could really hear each character with their lines. You toed the line between normal and absurd just like the show did, and it didn't drag on too long, perfect length. Great story!

Nothing to say, dude. Awesome story. Played out beautifully in my head. Even the image of the burning car made me smile serenely. Great job.
| SweetSyerra chapter 1 . 1/25/2009
Any time I can read a story, and actually picture the characters speaking the lines, and it comes across as completely natural, then I know the writer has talent. Am I sure Kevin himself didn't write it? No. That's how great this is. (The typos could be a ploy. :) )If this wasn't the great Mr. Smith himself, then perhaps you're his secret twin brother... Well done.

Did I start watching Clerks when it aired on Adult Swim just to read your fic?
Was it worth it?
...Oh, hell yes.
This was... Wow. I'd forgotten how much I love your style. And in a weird way, this show is so much more conductive to it than TO. The random breaks, the off the wall pop culture refs (Hannah Montana as the watermark of success? "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" lyrics in a suicide note-witten on receipt paper? Luke's random ascention to gothy Jedi Master? Pam the world famous Batman artist (nice nod, btw... You pull off self-reference with aplomb.)? And ripping Rob Lowe a new one? How do you manage to rock so effing hard? Huh?), the psudeo-moralic end with a killer last line.
Also, all that crap about the St. Elmo's fire? Freakin' genius. Just pure magic.
And... Way to keep in the tone of the show. Instead of pulling out some "It's A Wonderful Life" crap, everyone could only agree with poor Dante's road to self destuction. Much as it happens in real life.
Also. Loved your Silent Bob dialgue.
Oh, and just caught the fact that you referred to the Star Wars convo as a religious debate. Sometimes reading your stuff makes me want to rip out my eyes immediately afterwards just so they'll never be tainted by anything less awesome than this.
| Chester Snapdragon McFisticuff chapter 1 . 11/20/2008
Wow. The single greatest movie I've ever seen in my lifetime actually does have some faithful fanfiction out there! Didn't see that one comin'. (Me finding this story is like the twist in "Empire") A "Clerks" story with a F**KING MORAL! How you managed to pull that off and NOT be Kevin Smith is beyond me. Well done.
| KnittWitt chapter 1 . 9/9/2008
There's really not enough fic based on the cartoon/comics. This is awesome.
| Alex Wert chapter 1 . 8/5/2008
Wow, I'm stunned. Incredibly good dialogue, characterization (as far as I can tell since I never saw any Clerks other than their appearances in the other Kevin Smith movies), funny, sharp, witty. Plus a Star Wars timeframe inconsistency (not that those are rare occurances) and a tiny Office mention. And a porn enthusiast Rob Lowe. This fic was so full of it. Use whatever 'it' you're most comfortable using in that sentence.
| Thwishy chapter 1 . 7/16/2008
I love this story! You did a great job at capturing the mood from the cartoon (I never read the comics but I'm sure you did a great job with that too. Keep up the good work!
