I couldn't finish all of this story because it was just that bad. The writing itself is completely fantastic. The attention to detail and obvious effort this author has gone through is obvious. But, it's too complicated and the storyline is too jumbled and has too many things going on. I had found this story when looking for Draco veela fics. I think headcanoning him as part veela just makes it fun and creates cool fanfics. I honestly don't care who he's paired with, though as a queer dude and how similar the veela plot is to omegaverse, I do prefer queer stories. I read the majority of the story, up to the middeish of 32, which yeah, I gave up right at the end.

One major point of wanting fanfics like this for me is watching the whole courting process. I like flirting and teasing and romance and chemistry. There is barely any of that in this fanfic. There was definitely potential for it, but the author began running away with storylines that distract the reader and make no sense. It deviates from the story to the point that it gives a headache. When reading this fanfic, I complained to my friends several times that there was "too much magic" because even in the world of Harry Potter, everything moved too fast and in the extremes. Draco and Harry exchange letters and Draco gives gifts, cool. That could definitely be romantic, but it's not. In fact, a lot of the story isn't even focused on the romantics. When it gets to the areas where actual affections take place, there is no proper build up and it seems like Harry is in pain more than anything.

Basically - don't read this if you want to read a cute or romantic fanfic. It genuinely sucks. Everyone's characters are absolutely destroyed and the courting process has nothing to do with attraction or anything. Harry doesn't even seem to want to like his potential mates.

I got your 'Young Frankenstein' reference Frau Blücher. Cloris Leachman was soo good in that movie. I wouldn't have gotten it, except it was one of my husband's favorites.

this story was awesome. i feel like there was so much lore to learn outside the norm of the usual creature ficus. I liked all the twists and turns. I found myself unsatisfied with all the death that occurs but i do understand harry’s reason for not participating in war. I just didn’t expect THAT many people to die. Poor muggles. Either way loved all the world building and that each character had a purpose whether big or small. Thanks for all the hard work author!

I have been reading this story nonstop and it is awesome and compelling reading.
That’s quite a turnaround to have the Malfoys looking after the muggleborn, but untrained children can become dangerous adults, apart from the waste of talent and the awful lives of some of the children.
I love the variety of Harry’s suitors and that they don’t all conform to stereotypes, although that does make it harder for him to eliminate.
I don’t know if anyone pointed it out, but since 1929 the minimum age to marry in the UK has been 16 (UK parliament website). It can be difficult to catch all the differences between countries and it is harder when it is a historical event.

Second time I’ve read this story. Absolutely amazing. Really well thought out and written. I love that it’s more then just a ‘finding a mate’ story.

jfc i remember why i hate this site;

submissives dont equal females and dominants dont equal men

i genuinely wanted to like this but i feelthe characterization and lore is terribly written, or executed in a poor way.

why must harry be gay? is it because of his being a submissive or his x chromosome? submissives / female counterpart and dominants / male counterpart; stop forcing gender roles on subs and doms. i understand he "needed" to be with draco by the end however realistically speaking ANY dominant suitor would have worked with his being a submissive but i'm assuming y-male subs don't exist because y is the male chromosome and ot was written as y/dom chromosome and x/sub, therefore y-females don't exist because y doesnt exist in females which then means dominant veela females don't exist? unless you start pulling sh!t out of your arse bc harry did indeed get female suitors but whether or not they were (dominant) veela is unknown.

this was as far as i could have gone; i feel harry is written to be poorly close-minded character. not prejudiced but doesnt want to take care of a sick mate (whats he gonna do whem draco gets a deadly disease? "oh sorry you're sick and i dont want a sickly mate!"); not prejudiced but doesnt like fat (wo)men (whats he gonna do when draco puts on a little weight bc hes depressed or gets unhealthy? "oh sorry you're getting chubby and i dont like it")
