This is by far my favorite fanfic about Itachi's character. Great stuff.

You've done a really good job with portraying Itachi here, you went deep in there, and managed to bring it all together. Well done!

So complex and involving so many parts of human psychology and understanding. It was a very enjoyable story and a bit shocking in the way it touches so deep and yet doesn't really give a new answer to what was written in the manga. But that is also part of the irony and I'm a sucker for irony.:)

This, seriously, is the best character study of Itachi I've ever had the privilege to read. Just...nailed him. Dead on.

Blew my mind. The descriptions, the flow, it was all spot on. You took everything I knew and thought of this character and gave it life. Excellent.

This is beyond fantastic, the portrayal of Itachi is flawless. A refreshing read.

To put it simply: this is a work of art in words. You have managed to dive into the deepest crevices of who -not what- Itachi is in a way that is both mesmerising and intriguing. I look forward to reading more of your fics in the future -

This was great. It really delved into the intracacies of Itachi. It almost made me cry a bit... I can't wait to read more that you write. At the end you said 'he would have explained himself to Sasuke'. So that means he didn't get a chance. I'm up to date on the manga, so I know what happened to Itachi. But do you mean that circumstances just didn't give him a chance to tell Sasuke? If so how exactly are you thinking?

I love how you walk the reader through all the possible explanantions there are for Itachi's behavior. Guh. I think this is wonderful, examining not only his actions, but his words and thoughts behind the words from all angles, with the overall message being (at least for me) "How can we ever know the truth?" Because if everything can be gauged more than one way, from inside or from outside, then you're right about how people believe the truth that they WANT to believe.

Ending with Sasuke was perfect! And Itachi choosing him to be the executioner is sort of twisted and awesome at the same time.

Wow, this was awesome. I love the idea of Itachi giving each person who asks a different reason. And I like that Kisame *doesn't* ask-he does really seem like the kind of person who wouldn't feel the need to know.

very poignant dive into Itachi's thoughts, reasons and actions. i enjoyed it immensely, especially the details involved with why certain people would get different reasons, and why everything surrounding sasuke's tie into it
