| sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 4/7/2013
A textbook example of the Winchester stubbornness and their willingness to do anything for the other even when they should probably be in the hospital themselves.

| Whilom chapter 1 . 8/30/2009
**Sam had been right about the hunting solo, wrong about the reason why. It hadn't been old habits Dean had fallen back into. It had been rage, pure and simple, at how close he'd come to losing Sam on that job. Sam wasn't the only one who worried about being left behind.**
I love me some protective!Dean.
Dean's enthusiasm about having a stakeout was very endearing, as were Sam's incoherent mutterings about Jess and their dad. Very cute story.
| BlueSea14 chapter 1 . 1/9/2009
Hah-hah. Brainless... :D
Seriously, though, loved this hunt. I thought that it was a very nicely put-together, reasearched monster that allowed a glimpse at the boys without too much of a pain-filled ending for either of them. Perfect concerned, slightly dazed Sam, perfect impulsive, overprotective Dean, and wonderful story.

Nice job, I loved the loose prequel to this and this is really great. Nice, nice job.
| Stoneage Woman chapter 1 . 6/11/2008
I meant that I hadn't read the prequel to this fic. Which I have now. Both that one and this are excellent. I love your season one stories.
| JazzyIrish chapter 1 . 6/9/2008
Another fabulous story - can't tell you how many times I laughed at the boys' banter. You do such a great job writing the dialogue for these guys, so natural, so "brothers". Loved how Sam was moaning about Dean treating him like he was twelve - or eight :).
Loved the scene back at the motel when Dean was caring for hurt Sam, watching over him while researching the Dobhar-Chu at the same time. And really, this passage about Dean says it all: "Sam had been right about the hunting solo, wrong about the reason why. It hadn't been old habits Dean had fallen back into. It had been rage, pure and simple, at how close he'd come to losing Sam on that job. Sam wasn't the only one who worried about being left behind." Oh boys!
Thanks for sharing this story with us. I really love your style of writing - it flows so naturally and is such a pleasure to read. Love your "hunts" as well - so unique that even the boys hadn't heard of this particular monster ;). Great job. Until next time...
| faith-in-Faith chapter 1 . 6/4/2008
So this one had everything. :D Hurt Sam (yes, I know I'm evil :() Big brother Dean, different plot, happy banter and that air of sadness broken with joy that so many of your stories has and is what makes them "you". You can really feel Sam's sadness over Jess and life in general and Dean's worry and the weight of the world on his shoulders and still they both finds joy and confort in each others precense and it's just breathtaking. :)
Thank you for sharing. :)
| ames 449 chapter 1 . 6/4/2008
haha killer otter? I shouldnt find that funny, but I really did. It was no Tarka at any rate. Loved this though. A smattering of whumpage for both lads. Awesome stuff. As always your prose is flawless and the story line was great. I think you may well just keep me sane over the summer. Thanks for the story.
| PADavis chapter 1 . 6/4/2008
Good grief - its Wednesday, your new post is in my inbox and this one is still suspiciously in my box too. I think I forgot to review this one the first time I read it for which I apologise. I was not quite sure where I found a difference between this and others of your fics - I believe it was the level of understanding they have of each other that have always incorporated even in the S1 fics. Sometimes its just Dean understanding Sam, since he can't help it, and Sam trying to figure Dean out. They both seemed a little distant from each other in this but not only could I be imagining that, but you don't have to include that connection... Dean's understanding that it was rage that drove him out to hunt solo, and that you know he won't ever tell Sam, was sweet and tragic at the same time.
Can't believe I have another one to read. /dances happily\
| papergrape chapter 1 . 6/3/2008
A full length episode-what a rare treat! I was wondering where you come up with all of these creatures? Is there a guidebook to Supernatural creatures or do you research and come up with these on your own? I've always loved the way the show deals with so many popular urban legends/mythical monsters/superstitions. It's fun to see more of them (even if I've never heard of them) out and about in your stories. And the show has actually been pretty light on the monsters...
I loved the dialog and the characteristic annoyance/concern dynamic of the brothers' relationship as usual. Comparatively light-hearted and very fun-typical season one!
I always enjoy reading-thanks for sharing!
| Phx chapter 1 . 6/3/2008
Aw - one of favorite Sam's is a cold Sam :) And this story delievered it in spades, right up to even the ending, after he'd gotten Dean back and situated, Sam is still drained. Very realistic and I totally sucked it up.
Oughta Otta - LOL! I love how you write the brothers. Their banter is always spot on and your hunts are always awe inspiring. Your imagination is a wonderful place :) And of course my favorite Dean is an angry Dean because something has hurt or wants to hurt his bro :)
And one of my favorite things that you've had consistantly through your stories - and again I'm only looking at the Sam side of things but do appreciate your consistancies with Dean as well - is that Dean loves to hear his brother laugh or to see Sam smile... aw...

| lili20 chapter 1 . 6/3/2008
So funny Sam's thoughts about his age "12 or maybe 8". Dean in protector mode is all kinds of awesome but going against three monsters is just plain crazy...but so Dean. Both brothers taking care of each other is what family is about. Thanks for another great story.
| HAP chapter 1 . 6/3/2008
Dean is such a machine (what with the saving Sam and finding time to kill all three monsters)...
Nice brotherly interaction here - and I liked Dean's introspection and the fact that could still fit in a crazy monster!
