ProfesseurBlinis chapter 23 . 12/2/2017 Okay I cried so much, that's awful! I'm always crying for that part because it must be so hard for them to go and for Susan and Peter to know they won't be coming back |
ProfesseurBlinis chapter 7 . 12/2/2017 You made me cry! That's was so cute! And I learned a new word! 'tabard' ! Thank you for that |
ProfesseurBlinis chapter 6 . 12/2/2017 Lucy has a role so much more interesting than in the movie ! Thank you so much for that ! |
ProfesseurBlinis chapter 5 . 12/2/2017 I just began but I love it ! It's exactly what I was looking for in a Narnian fanfiction! I think I'm going to read all day |
emily4498 chapter 24 . 9/23/2017 Very good job on this! you should be proud! |
emily4498 chapter 3 . 9/21/2017 In response to your footnote: you probably had a hard time finding the quote because it's part of the Apocrypha, a set of extra-canonical books added to the Roman Catholic Bible during the Counter-Reformation. The more common reference is Sirach 6:14. Personally, I would have used John 15:13, Nahum 1:7, or Micah 7:18-19. The Micah one summarizes the chapter quite nicely, but the John one fits with the friend theme you're emphasizing. |
emily4498 chapter 2 . 9/21/2017 This is the first Narnia fanfiction I've ever read and I only started it because I had an idea of my own to write and wanted to see what the norm was...wow. How have I not thought to read venture further into this fandom before...? I hope this keeps up, the scene this started with was one of my favorite of the series. Absolutely wonderful! |
ShaiGar chapter 3 . 9/12/2017 You really ought to consider showing rather than telling. You'll note that in books, you won't find back slashes telling you that it's someones personal thoughts. |
MomoPeachFlower chapter 24 . 8/21/2017 Too freaking cute! This was such an interesting twist and I just love the family dynamic. |
trickstercast chapter 19 . 8/15/2017 OK so overall I've enjoyed this story, but i can't read any further until I've spoken my piece. I find it incredibly difficult to believe that any brothers would ever be that physically affectionate with each other. Susan and Lucy being so is believable, but only barely and it still stretches the bounds of credulity. It's becoming harder and harder as this story goes on to keep suspending disbelief. It also would have helped if you had specified earlier in the story that the Pevensies were the same age as they were in the books rather than the movie. I kept picturing practically adult William Moseley as Peter in the duel with Miraz. Everyone's fright is much more understandable when you picture a slight 14 year old taking on a middle aged man in single combat. Your fight scenes are very well written, as is everything else you've written. Just as an additional FYI, your intense scenes merit a teen rating at most. I'm ecstatic that you're keeping the fanfiction close in tone to the original material, but you don't need to be so worried about what you're writing being inappropriate for young audiences. The only chapter I can think of that actually merited the M rating is when Edmund chews out Peter and uses the F-word and maybe that's simply my opinion as an American where that's far more serious than it is in other parts of the world. Anyway, great story, great writing (even if it's a tad cloying), and wonderful execution of plot. Keep up the good work! |
Fabro de Omres chapter 24 . 7/21/2017 This fic was AMAZING! I loved every part of it, completely. |
Zanate56 chapter 24 . 7/8/2017 I read this story when it was first published on and you quickly became one of my favorite Narnia writers as a result. It's evident from your writing that you have a deep understanding of not only the Canon, but also of the spirit and essence of Narnia and its characters. That's what makes writing Narnia fanfic so tricky, at least for me. There's a certain spirit and grace in the original stories and I think you've managed to capture that here while still preserving your own voice and style as a writer. I particularly like how you incorporated passages from the books into this film and thought you did a very good job of blending the book and film universes. While the Narnia films aren't perfect, I think they did a great job of exploring the nuances of each character, particularly Edmund (who I admit is my favorite character in the series) in the first film and also Peter in the second film. I'm a sucker for angst and conflict so the whole subplot of Edmund and Peter's brotherly dynamic was really great stuff to read. I hope at some point you will write more stories for this fandom, because you're a great writer. Thank you for sharing this lovely story with us. :) |
