Reviews for The Open Door |

![]() ![]() ![]() Part of “the Open Door” entails a YAHF in the Buffy-verse, so have you thought of posting your story on Twisting The Hellmouth? Star Wars: Can’t wait to see what will happen next. Will the slaves rescued from Yuuzhang Vong become part of Chaos Undivided? Also, Hutts like Jabba would make great converts for Mislaato, what with being a race of hedonistic hermaphrodites obsessed with power and status. Ashley and Scipio: As Ashley learns phasing technology from Starbuck of the Colonials, Scipio will need t develop counter-strageties so they can evaluate the pros and cons of Ashley's improvization. TSAB/Nanoha: Haven't seen them in a while. How will they react to Vita as a super-assassin? Forgotten Realms: The kuo-toa of LoobliShar (see 3.5“Underdark”) tap into the Shadow Weave, so there might be a Whispered or two among the NON-EVIL commoners. Kuo-toa commoners tend to be neutral and form an oppressed majority in most settlements, generally lacking the cruelty and bloodthirstiness of the theocratic and noble classes, but remain silent out of fear. The site of a deity’s ascension or birth is often infused with odd magical energy, so a kuo-toa Whispered fleeing LoobliShar could be drawn to the ruins of Menzoberranzan and use Skuld’s lingering divine essence as a power source. If such an individual masses enough minions and followers, they could build a new settlement in the name of Skuld and eventually petition to become a self-governing territory of Noctis. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'd like to ask if this story is still active, because it's totally badass. Though I'm sure you get plenty of messages/reviews like that. Anyways, I actually wanted to offer a couple of ideas for if you are continuing this story. Mainly involving World of Warcraft, since every massive crossover gets there eventually. The Horde is perfect for conversion to Chaos, your New Chaos especially. Plenty of Orc berserkers to satisfy Khorne/Asukhon...hell, you could literally swap Mannoroth with one of them and get the same results, roughly. Just probably more effective. The Forsaken are practically made for Nurgle/Reigle, with wanting to kill everything with a plague, the whole "Suffer well," parting quote, and for Warlocks, Spriests, and Death Knights, the diseases/other DoTs are made for that particular god/goddess. Belfs are obviously going towards Slaanesh/Mislaato, no explanation really needed. And Tzeentch/Tzintchi would be satisfied with any particularly devious Lock or Spriest. This part is also only for if you're continuing. I, personally, would like to see more of Lars and Skuld, because that's probably the most believable "arc" out of all of them so far. It just really gives the feeling that that COULD happen if the events leading up to it occured. (shrug) Just my personal opinion. This is probably the best crossover that I've read in the 5 years I've been on this site, and I would like to see it continue. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, it's been ages since I read through all this and it looks like it's been a year since you last updated this story. I won't bother you with suggestions and all that since I'm already mind boggled by the awesomeness of this fic. Thus I'll get straight to the point and ask for more updates. This story is too epic to let it die, at least with so many questions in the air like what happened to Skuld and if Lars and Gunnhild will ever find her again. (I suspect they will but it will probably involve a ridiculous amount of violence which will make my inner psycho cackle with glee) Hell, if you're sick of the story just post a chapter with an outline of what you had planed (more or less) and set the story as complete so people don't get stuck waiting around for the next update. So until anything new shows up we can only hope. Also if by next year I don't see anything on this I'm going to start poking you with private messages and if that doesn't work in a year, I'll start hunting you down and I WILL find you in person, force a shot gun at the back of your head and force you to start writing if you don't have a good reason to not have updated in what will be three or more years by that time. This is Daetor, warping out... |
![]() ![]() ![]() It’d be great if adolescent Psykers of neoChaos could have Familiars like in D&D to help guide the development of their gifts. It’d make Ashley’s school feel more like Hogwarts, although they’d need rules against harming someone’s familiar except under specific circumstances to avoid “unnecessary” violence and bloodshed. Plus, the souls of familiars would help feed the Gods of neoChaos. Mislaato would get a kick out of viewing memories from the POV of a cat, or an owl, or a rat, or a toad, or a snake for the sake of novelty. The souls of familiars would be like children in that they wouldn’t have the memories and emotional content of an adult human. Even under ideal circumstances, the average familiar only lives a decade, so someone might good through half a dozen familiars over the course of their lifespan. Depending on your occupation, you might not be allowed to be bonded to a familiar. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love this story, are you ever going to continue it? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I must say that out of all the fanfiction I have read this piece is very impressive. It's incredibly ambitious and, amazingly, you have managed to make the absurd number of crossovers work without totally breaking suspension of disbelief. You certainly have talent, and I eagerly await the next chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() WOW! More please! I hope you update soon. Can’t wait to see how you handle “Star Wars” and Anakin Solo meeting his grandfather in the pre-Empire past. Kara “Starbuck” Thrace could insist that her Jackknife starfighter be given an astromech droid for companionship and in-flight maintenance. Pilots often have close emotional bonds with their astromechs, which helps reduce the long-term stress of combat, and Chaos Undivided needs every psychological advantage to ensure optimal performance in all soldiers and logistic support members. No pantheon archetype is complete without a deity of Agriculture and harvest, a role Gunnhild might fulfill as a counterbalance to Skuld’s technology. The AllSpark Cube could be an artifact left over from the House of Space, Odin’s ancestors, which could have been created to repair the damage caused by the Void Born and seed worlds with life. Tzintchi would be more interested in the Transformer’s afterlife, ‘the Matrix’ or ‘Well of Sparks’ that contains the collective spiritual essence of all Transformers. Plus, Waspinator/Thrust would make an ideal recruit for Mama Reigle considering all the hardships he endured. The Wraith of “SG:A” lose the ability to consume food and drink upon reaching adolescence, but Anise’s Tok’ra medicine could help the Wraith retain some of their childhood digestive system to reduce their need to drain the life energy of others and make them easier to control. In real-life, this process is known as Neoteny, when an adult keeps juvenile traits, such as toy dogs that are bred look like puppies, or some species of salamander that retain external gills throughout their entire lives. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That transformer comment reminded me of a story I was reading not too long ago, I think it was one of the Time Loop stories by Innortal. Anyway, it was something along the lines of "If you happen to have a chunk of metal called the 'all spark', what ever you do, don't drop it on anything named 'Death Star'." This is an awesome story. Looking forward to an update still. Good luck, and keep up the great work! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Holy shit, just reading through this so far is impressive. And reading more, it just gets better. Continue to update, this is one of the great works of Fanfiction my friend. Afterall, if you can make Keiichi a man made of badass, then the man who SAYS it is made of epic win. Update again soon, ja ne. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love this story, and I was wondering if you've just hit a dry patch in writing it or just lost interest in it all together? I hope that it is only a dry patch and that your muse comes back to you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This chapter ("In Concert") provoked me into writing the following story: /s/5588986/1/Trust_in_God_or_The_Riddle_of_Kyon |
![]() ![]() ![]() seriously, post a chapter at the end explaining what happened man. |
![]() ![]() ![]() To compensate for neoChaos’ small numbers, Maggie Walsh’s Project3.1.4 offers a ‘low-tech’ means of reanimating disposable infantrymen for human wave attacks and acting as meat shields for the more important Space marines. The best part is that they can repair themselves by stealing body parts from fallen enemies. Other than Adam, Walsh’s brainchild, one great example of this concept is Gorm the Dissolver from “Star Wars.” A patchwork Arkanian cyborg bounty hunter, his physical makeup included components from no less than six biological species and seven generations of droids and machines. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was skimming the [(StarDestroyer forum)] and liked the idea of using “domesticated” Goa’uld/Tok’ra symbiotes as upgrades for officers and space marines, although their capacity for genetic memory will need to be removed to avoid Harcesis offspring and minimize security leaks. They'd advise their hosts, act as a second set of eyes, and buffer against psychic attack. Meanwhile, lower class individuals would benefit from Prim’tah incubation of larvae, as non-citizens wouldn’t have great medical coverage as an incentive for them to seek citizenship. The youthful vitality of Prim'tah would allow them to remain fertile and reproductively capable for a greater period of time without artifical aids or medication. |
