I like both parts of this story, the original and the addition. Harry and Daphne as written really bring out the best in each other. I enjoy her well thought out arguments and ability to push Harry to plan and excel. I'm a little skeptical of the trust he invests in her - it seems a bit quick to me, though well shown.
Thanks for posting a fun read.

I very much enjoyed both parts of this story. Daphne definitely has a good effect on Harry, pushing him to think things through and reach his potential.
Thanks for posting.

I really enjoyed this story! Love who you paired everybody up with. Very unique take on killing Voldemort and (even though I love him), Snape.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful imagination with us!

That's a very interesting story, and quite "new" as well in many ways :D
Your Harry-Daphne couple is well balance, and each keep there own personality.
Very well done !

I really enjoyed this story. I thought your take on Daphne was realistic and I was really pleased with the developed friendships and epilogue as well.

I like it

Well done, very well done. I think you managed to really highlight how Daphne's influence on Harry allowed him to break free of being led around by Dumbledore. I especially enjoyed the way you dealt with Draco. You could really see how you blended Potter's courage with Greengrass's cunning. Finally I believe your epilogue handled all the loose ends to give us a satisfying ending.
| SweetSouthernGal chapter 8 . 8/5/2013
I'm not sure why, but I really do like the Harry/Daphne pairing. Perhaps because it's so unusual and it's a blank canvas character. Of course, I think part of it is the GryffindorSlytherin dynamic...so interesting, so much material- ya know?
Anyway, I've read a fair few HDph stories, and this is definitely one of the better ones. Once again, you found a unique way to tackle the issue of Horcruxes and getting rid of the Death Eaters. And I loved how sneaky/sly/cunning Daphne is and all her plans and then later her conspiracy to change Wizarding society. Ha! Too great.
Thanks for sharing, this story is a gem!
| FrozenSpectre chapter 8 . 8/3/2013
Nice extended epilogue. Nothing really revolutionary, but just good extension of many things, like how Harry and Daphne really got together in all the ways, how Voldemort's death was dealt with and how school ended for everyone.
While I don't really see Harry accepting ministry job (other than Auror) as he hates his fame, it was explained and there were enough examples of how and why Harry accepted Daphne's plan to become Minister of Magic and why Harry learned to use his fame, while not really liking it.
Anyway, great story.
| FrozenSpectre chapter 4 . 8/1/2013
Well, that must have been the most unusual and weirdest way to deal with Voldemort, but at the same time really unique and cunning way to do it. Perfect combination of Gryffindor and Slytherin, I would say. And it was fitting for this story.
Also I really like how Harry's and Daphne's relationship had developed. As for Mary sue, your Daphne definitely isn't one. Only slight issue that I have had with Daphne's character (so far) is that she and Harry become friends a little too quickly. It would have been better if it would have took a little longer for them to become so friendly with each other. However it's not overly problematic and doesn't really make things any worse.
And I like I said earlier, I think that the rather fast paced friendship development between Harry and Daphne was because you had originally planned this story being one-shot.
| FrozenSpectre chapter 1 . 8/1/2013
This is great start for the story and I really like how you have written both Harry and Daphne. Especially Daphne as you have managed to make her character believable and fitting. Hopefully it just get's better in future chapters.
Though I have to say that Harry and Daphne becomes friends quite fast and easily even. But I think that this is more of sign of your first idea of making this one-shot story. In one-shots (even long ones), it's understandable that things moves faster and that some relationship developments are more fast-forwarded. Not saying that this is bad thing, but I think that the original "being one-shot story" idea shows here.
Also, there is slight mistake at one point in story, though not sure if you plan to do it anything. Anyway, when Harry is asking Hermione that who are most academically successful in their year, there is one inconsistency in there. That is following:
"So what do we do?" Ron asked as they continued walking to their Defense class.
and few paragraphs later
"Who's second?" Ron wondered as they took their seats. Slughorn was not there yet.
So, in one point, they were going on defence class, but then they went on potions. Yeah, not really big deal, but just wanted to point out.
Anyway, great start.

Very good Harry/Daphne fic. I thought of reading this a while ago and didn't. I am glad I did now because it is a very good one. I like how you developed not only the characters but their relationships. And thank you for not sticking Hermione with Ron but you still put her with a character that is usually thought of as an arrogant arse. I like how you progressed through the story and think Daphne was a great fit with Harry how you wrote her. Being a character, one of many, that JK let hang made a good platform for you to create a good character. I like how you didn't rush their relationship but also didn't drag it out. And how you had Harry take care of Moldyshorts and his band of masochists was great. So I will just say thank you for writing a great fic and sharing it with the rest of us.
