What a great story. I was so engrossed, I forgot to eat, sleep or do anything normal. Thank you for writing it!
| Ritu chapter 4 . 3/13
Thank you Red Hardy for your comment at the end of this chapter. Callie Shaw is my fave. I get upset when I see Frank with anyone else but her. Some stories I read really broke my heart. Callie plotting revenge, Frank dumping Callie unceremoniously for Nancy, Callie a murderer. Sad!
So I want to thank you for keeping Callie right where she belongs. It is a heartfelt thanks to you.

I for one didn't like the story. Yes We can say how Callie should have felt and one and so forth but, unless you're in her position we can't judge. Yes she should've trusted Frank that is were she was wrong and I understand totally how the other hardy members must have felt truly. Callie was great and very kind but I think the others should have been kinder too. Much kinder.

Wow that was great, I can't believe Callie didn't trust Frank enough to show him the picture. Poor Vanessa I hope she will finally be able to get over everything that has happened to her. Joe will eventually learn to completely trust Frank again right? Love this series of stories.

You are amazing. This feels so real to me. I love that. Some writers make it lovey dovey to please people and you don't. Again, love that.
I love Frank forgave Callie and Joe's intense anger. Poor Vanessa the girl never gets a break. So far, you nearly killed her, got her raped and now her best friend broke her heart and got her kidnapped
I feel bad for Vanessa. poor kid

Oh, this was so good! I had no idea you'd written another but I'm so glad I found it! It was a lovely piece from beginning to end. :) You write emotion so well.

Amazing, incredible, stunning, superb, fantastic, awesome!
That doesn't even come close to describing how much I loved this story.
That last chapter was one of my very favourites. So emotional, so intense.
And no convenient 'quick-fix'. I LOVED the conversation between the brothers. It was so real; so true to life. But it also gave the hope that they WILL get there. It will just take time - for all of them.
I genuinely can't wait for the next installment.
| TraSan chapter 21 . 8/30/2008
Oof, rather a bittersweet ending there, my dear. Wonderful, yet tinged with a bit of heartbreak.
That final conversation needed to take place, but another one will too eventually - for Frank and Joe to get back to where they need to be.
Awesome story. Count me in for the next one!

Waah! Such a great story... such a great ending! I'm so saddened that they've lost so much between them, but so excited that there's already another story coming! They're BOTH lucky to have each other as a brother. I'd take either one of 'em! :)
"You don't trust me anymore. Not like you used to." SO SAD! I can't imagine how hurt Frank is, especially knowing that in a way, he did kind of bring it on himself. (Hate to say it, but what can I do?) My poor, poor Frank. And Joe, of course! Frank was all he had sometimes, so to lose that is just killing the poor kid! I mean, if he can't even talk about it to Frank... *sniff*
TERRIFIC story, Red! I can't wait to see what you've got cooked up next!

I agree, Pandora is a great story. *seconds the recommendation*
I had to review, it's the last chapter. Already :-/
"Are you sure Vanessa is ready for that?" Frank asked, concerned. He felt that he and Callie had already set Vanessa’s recovery back quite a bit and didn’t want to do any more damage. - poor Vanessa :( But at least they realize it, maybe they can help her and Joe can have some help with helping her. Did that make sense? :P
‘At least he didn’t kill her,’ Frank thought wryly. ‘That’s a good sign.’ - Lol! :D Very good sign.
Frank felt as if a knife had just been plunged into his heart. "But you don’t trust me anymore. Not like you used to." Frank said it as a statement; it was no longer an unanswered question. - :( so sad. But so realistic, unfortunately :-/ You're good :p
It's the same thing again... "perfect" Frank makes one mistake and look what it does to everyone. *hugs*
Joe remained silent, trying to stay in control. All the pain he’d suppressed for so long came roaring to the surface, ripping open wounds that had barely begun to heal. - I could be wrong, but... Joe and Vanessa are almost parallels here. They're both dealing with big issues that might have happened a while ago, but neither of them are over it yet.
While she agreed that they would have to discuss it eventually, she suggested waiting until he had really been able to accept what had happened to him as a small child and started to move past it. By then, she told him, the wounds from Frank’s betrayal would have started to heal. He would be able to talk to his brother more rationally and much less painfully. - you broke Joe! :( At least he told Frank that the therapist said it, and Frank's not just left to think he's avoiding it...
"I hope so," Joe whispered. "I know I want to." - you HAVE to! :p
"Everything," Joe answered, knowing despite the lies and the betrayals, he had still been blessed with a brother he wasn’t quite sure he deserved. "All things considered, I’m pretty lucky to have a brother like you."
As Frank watched his brother’s retreating back, he shook his head. ‘You’re so wrong, little brother. I’m the lucky one.’
Looking down at his right index finger, he thought of a summer’s day almost fifteen years ago and realized nothing, not even his own demons, could destroy the bond he shared with Joe. - AW that was such a sweet ending! You're gonna make me cry again, you meanie :p How dare you be so good.
What do you mean, another one? I'm not sure I can handle another one! :p And it's Friday today! :o *goes to read something funny to cheer herself up first :P* I mean, no offence - it's actually a compliment - but your stories are so emotionally draining, sheesh :p

Hey Buddy! Congratulations on another amazing, wonderful story! As usual, your forte is realism- and you didn't solve all of the problems in one story. Rather, you have artfully crafted an ongoing series of stories and relationships that take real time and real effort to solve. So few writers take the time to really delve into the psyche of all of their characters, and to realistically portray problems. This story was terrific, and you should be proud! Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us!
