I call bullshit on 5 fucking jounin and a Sannin being one of them doing Jack shit against Orochimaru and just because you want stuff to go like in canon doesn’t mean you completely screw up the character. Jiraiya is a sannin and Konoha’s spymaster - a position that not just any dunce can get. And how the heck is the Hokage not present for the sealing ritual? Also please - his killer intent froze 4 of the best ninjas konoha has? Not even pain could do that. Freezing genin who’ve only been on one mission is VASTLY different from overwhelming A rank shinobi. And while in canon it was just Kakashi who performed the sealing and it could still be said that Orochimaru would’ve definitely won, here there was jiraiya of equal power AND reinforcements. Also how tf did Orochimaru know the EXACT time of the sealing? If he was there before then someone should’ve sensed him between Tsume, Jiraiya and the others. Even in the manga/anime Orochimaru only came AFTER the sealing was complete. It’s a great story but this scene and scenes where you try to shove illogical stuff into the story to make it match canon is just something I do not like.
That being said this is a great story and I’ll still be reading through it

If only because without Aomaru or a Ninken and further training into the Inuzuka clan techniques I feel like the prompt itself lost majority of its meaning. Without that it's just a matter of time before Naruto is just a conjoining of his canon self. Where he has a bunch of precious people etc. with slightly differing events ending in the same place.

Seems legit to me. Basically rather than a blunt force trigger use a seal that's primed and then activated on command.

Also, Your Naruto is at just the right intelligence in comparison to Canon!Naruto. As in he's not so intelligent it's unrealistic, but rather more intelligent in the sense he had a mother who made sure he was taught properly growing up and his secret was better hidden to the extent no one knew except for the Hokage and Tsume. Which means he was treated better in the Academy. So despite the pranks which is in his blood, he didn't outright give up on the knowledge portion of being a ninja.

As for understanding the ninken or not? I'm imagining Naruto to be a parallel of Ash Ketchum. He doesn't truly understand word for word what's being said. Which makes it useless for this exams. However he has spent enough time around the intelligent dogs his adoptive clan uses that he can get the general gist of what they're saying.

I think you were over reaching a smidge to justify something you didn't have to. Only the Taiju Kage Bunshin is listed as forbidden. Since it is designed to make a lot of clones vastly increasing its cost. Where as Shikamaru made 1 clone and would be considered smart enough to know when not to over reach.

I would say it's yin not shadow affinity, but honestly there's a chance you wrote this long before Yin and Yang were solidified as the usage behind non elemental releases with affects beyond basic chakra.

huh. You know I didn't think about it too much before. But with Kurenai being more of a Tokubetsu Jonin what with having just reached full Jonin rank fairly recently. Having someone like Anko as a friend to help her shore up her own weaknesses in training her teammates is perfect.
