|Reviews for Poké Wars: The Subsistence|
| World Theory chapter 23 . 3/11
Okay, good story. A bit rough; it needs some polishing I think. Possibly over half of this polishing could be done by re-reading the story with your now (I assume) more experienced writer's eyes. There were a few cases where words are used not quite right, but still convey what was meant.
Anyway, I enjoyed this as one of the first pokemon-only fanfics I've read, although I've read plenty of other fanfics, and among those, a few cross-overs with pokemon. The post-apocalyptic feeling of world in this story had me comparing in to other works of fiction of that genre. This is probably one of the fresher (the apocalyptic event having happened very recently) post-apocalyptic settings I've read about. I will just say that for the sake of the survivors, I'm glad there were no magical balefire bombs involved, that after having exploded, spread magical radiation that either kills, or turns creatures into ghouls, and eventually simple-minded zombies. Though magical super-powered creatures turning savage all of a sudden may arguable be worse, it doesn't need to be increased to "magical super-powered relentless zombie monsters that heal in deadly radiation that just so happens to be liberally spread everywhere.
Yes, I'm imagining a compound crossover of "Fallout: Equestria" (by Kkat) and "Pokemon Wars". And why not throw in some "Soylent Green" just for the fun of it?!

I want to congratulate you on an awesome story. I found this on TVTropes one day and curious, I clicked the link. Everything you wrote up to now chilled me to the bone. Everything. Indeed, it is war, but who will survive and who will die? Only Arceus can tell.
I'm going to read everything you've got, so expect more reviews from me!

how come meoth hasn't told them about hearing the voice in his head from Ho-oh?

What would you have done? what would I have done? I don't think anyone could really answer that till the comment it happens...

I think the message here is that violent fights are not fun.
Seriously? The amount of people that have died here are stupendous. Anybody can die, and it has become more of Survival of the Fittest.
...Yeah. This is what I like about this fic. It depicts violence and peoples reactions to it in a more realistic way than other fics do.
That said, I think it still echoes a lot of Shin Megami Tensei themes a lot. Except there aren't really a whole lot of Law-Neutral-Chaos sides in it.
| Trapalan chapter 1 . 12/26/2013
Probably one of the only Pokemon fanfics that I actually like. The whole mood, atmosphere and theme reminds me of a Shin Megami Tensei game, specifically Devil Survivor 2. Hell, just replacing Pokemon with Demons, Pokeballs with Computers, and splitting those Pokemon off in a Law-Neutral-Chaos factions makes a Megami Tensei game.
It's bananas man!

wow i have to say this is one of the best fanfictions ive read. Theres so much detail in this story, and thoguh sometimes i get a bit naseous/ scared at the graphic details, it all adds to the story's suspense. Also great job with not keeping all the characters alive; a lot of authors seem to struggle with not killing people off; i think it adds to the story, the more resistance to the main characters, the better. The dialogue is pretty intelligent as well, and most of the arguments are realistic. The personality changes fit the story rather well. i cant wait for future plot developements, keep up the good work!

I don't like AJ. He seems to have ulterior motives. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but it's going to take a lot for me to forgive him for that stunt. Though Ash isn't much better off with the whole Spearow egg thing. The way I interpret it is these Pokemon aren't evil; they're just animals with extraordinary powers who want to hunt and eat and/or defend themselves. With that being the case, were one to take a Pokemon egg from the wild and hatch it, it should be loyal to its new trainer the way it would have been before the dampeners were removed. Also, if someone did catch one of these wild Pokemon, with enough time that Pokemon should bond with its trainer. It's just that that would take a lot longer than it used to, and time isn't something anyone has much of anymore.
Anyway, enough rambling. I found this story an absolute "page" turner, and I'm onto the next section.

you know the creation orb why not make it like sleeping beauty where when the chosen one finds true love the dampeners will reactivate it is more fitting to the story and it adds a humorous twist to a serious story

I like to come back alive sometimes too, y'know when I just feel like not fucking dying.
| Lay Down Hunter chapter 19 . 7/26/2013
If I had a pound for every time you've written inches, death and close I'd be a bloody rich man.
| Lay Down Hunter chapter 18 . 7/26/2013
Easy pickings my ass, no ones gonna die.
| Lay Down Hunter chapter 16 . 7/26/2013
I don't see why Ash's Pokemon risk so much for him, he really only cares about Pikachu. Maybe he says good job and all that every once in a while to 'em but that's about it, to me it seems like Ash only uses 'em.
| Lay Down Hunter chapter 15 . 7/26/2013
Obviously not dead.
