Yes! Dumbledore's fine! Whew. That's a relief. So he's been keeping a bit of a distance because he believes too much information will shatter Harry, and he needs to figure it out for himself so he can deal. Okay, I get that. But why is it suddenly affecting Ginny, too? Or isn't it?
| EmeraldWings90 chapter 9 . 1/3/2012
Wow. That was amazing. Okay, I refined my theory: like other Horcruxes, Harry is affecting everyone who gets emotionally close to him, and the stronger the emotional connection, the worse it gets. But everyone has different symptoms. And that means Dubledore is really affected, too, his is just less obvious. Ginny already experienced this effect from the diary-Horcrux, so she's immune to the Harry-Horcrux. (Or, if you were the predestined soulbond type of author, that could be the reason for her immunity too. I'm not sure if you are; I don't think so, based on what I read so far, but the possibility did occur to me.)
But this means that now Ginny can explain this to everyone, including Dumbledore, while Harry is not there, and then they will be able to view it rationally, too, right? And they will be able to help. This does not mean that the two of them are alone; this only means that Harry can only interact with Ginny. There shouldn't be anything stopping Ginny from seeking help on her own.
| EmeraldWings90 chapter 8 . 1/3/2012
Whoa, are they free of the influence? Or is it just that Harry isn't near?
I'm now pretty sure that Harry deep down has the knowledge that he's a Horcrux and he's almost remembering. Also, it was like he was seeing memories not only from Voldemort but from the ring-horcrux as well - only it and Dumledore were present, so it had to be through the Horcrux he saw it, right? And I really hope the silver instrument of Dumbledore's was to keep an eye on Harry.
I guess he will *remember* soon... I hope he will. Knowing won't be easy, but this situation is horrible too. And I hope loving Ginny will be a strong enough antidote to the influence. That must be what it's trying to distance him from other people he loves, too, so that he wouldn't have enough love to fight back with.
I guess we're already seeing that. He's very Horcrux-ish around Dumbledore, and Ron, but he is almost completely Harry-like with Ginny, which is a real reief. It shows he's still there, strongly, he just needs a little help. I always breate a sigh of relief when he is able to suppress the negative feelings. (It also happened at Quidditch tryouts - that was really impressive, that he managed to hold himself together even after the flashback.)

Before reading: I like Dumbledore, so I hope there won't be any bashing...
Damn, seems like his reaction was not severe enough to make them really notice. :S Good thing Neville took notice, at least... maybe he's less affected? Or not... :(
Dammit, is Voldemort listening in constantly or what? This is really serious... Being not interested in what Albus has to say, then almost knowing and feeling smug that the curse on his hand is deadly, then the interest in the prophecy... I really hope it's *only* the Horcrux in Harry and not Voldemort personally and consciously. But maybe it's not... we know Voldemort can't possess him, so maybe he can't spy either... let's hope... And please, Albus, notice something! You can see he's acting weird! Notice he's only interested in things Voldemort would be interested in!
Damn him for making fun of the Draco situation. Even the way he handled it in canon was better... But right now it would be really good for Harry is he felt Albus trusted him with this. Keep a closer eye on him, for Merlin's sake! Of course Albus has his own problems - he's dying and he's leading the Order and looking for Horcruxes and knows Malfoy's going to try to kill him, so of course he can't focus on Harry fully, but... :( Pity Harry didn't try to talk about hi friends first... that would have probably caught Albus' attention.
Wait... is it possible Albus is affected, too, and that's why he's not worried more about Harry? ...Nah, probably not.
"Or maybe he knows something and he's just being mysterious about it – you know Dumbledore. He likes to keep lots of his secrets to himself. Until the right time to reveal them, at least." Yes Harry, please keep thinking like that, cause you're right. And please do tell her tomorrow.
| EmeraldWings90 chapter 5 . 1/3/2012
Whoa. I'm at the point of the Amortentia right now... it's reassuring that Harry was reacting positively at first, but the later reaction suggests and allergy to love like Voldemort's - I imagine that's the reason for the horrible smell, anyway, that he is so completely against love that he's allergic to Amortentia or something. And it happened the minute Ron and Hermione walked in, as if their presence brought the Horcrux to the forefront... It's like Voldemort is generating tension between Harry and the other four, but only them... and they only have a problem with Harry, not each other... (Not counting Hermione's issues with Lav-Lav and Won-Won, which is probably perfectly natural.)
Anyway, I'll read on.
Wow to the flashback, poor Harry (I always loved that possession scene) - but I guess this could be a good thing right now. It could alert them, hopefully Dumbledore too, that there is something seriously wrong and it's not just stress and frayed tempers. But if it's possible it's a good thing, then it can't have been triggered by Voldemort on purpose, so maybe my theory has a few holes in it - or it was accidental on his part. (Or PTSD, but I doubt it; if any of them were prone to it, they would have showed it earlier, I think.)
