Oh my gosh! That was such a great insight on the secret story of Bertha Mason! Her side of the story makes Rochester sound twisted and evil. He very well could be, the author never elaborated on that!

Wow. Your writing is very powerful. Great physical and emotional descriptions.
I'm not sure I appreciate this version of Rochester. I like him better as a more sympathetic man, tricked into marriage by Richard Mason and his father.
But that doesn't change how well this story is written. Great characterizations and drama.
Thanks for sharing it!

Different take, certainly on Bertha Mason Rochester. Not bad.

This is very interesting...somehow this seems more correct coz I think Rochester was just too perfect to be true

My goodness, that was BEAUTIFUL. So rich with description, and such interesting insights into the characters of Bertha, Rochester and Mason! It never occurred to me that Bertha might be concerned about Jane, and this interpretation adds a layer of sympathy that renders Bertha's madness even more poignant. Absolutely wonderful-please keep up the good work!
