Off to a sad start.

I’ve always been confused about leaving the foot, as I thought they’d believed it wouldn’t grow back?

I’m rereading this for like the sixth or seventh time, but I did want to comment how much I love this fic! Thank you for writing such a compelling, emotional story.

That pretty much is my bottom line on the whole Christianity thing: if God is all-powerful and he lets such *horrible* things happen to truly innocent beings, then he’s a sadistic monster who doesn’t deserve respect, let alone worship.

Of course, there’s the whole evolution of religions through written history, the psychology of the mind, and sociology of cultures that give more than enough proof for me to believe gods are human constructs designed and/or needed to serve a vital function in a society. I don’t have a problem with people needing religion in their lives, but it does infuriate me when they impose their beliefs on mine. That’s nature for you, though, especially if viewed through the lens of evolutionary biology and game theory.

You know, when I started reading your story I never thought I'd see so much of myself in it. Reading realistic stories of the disabled is difficult, because so many people just don't understand the different and difficult thought process that disabled people go through, as well as the reactions we face. People dance around my disability all the time, looking hesitant and cautious and constantly wanting to do things for me. Most of my family watch their words all the time, even if they've learnt the extant of what I can and can't do physically. I prefer the use of 'cripple', as Bella so eloquently told Edward but the only one of my family who seem to understand that is my sister and she won't use the term until I've used it first in conversation. It will be ten years for me this November (the 17th, a date I will never forget), and reading your story is like seeing my own thought tracks in someone else's writing and that is liberating. So thank you. Thank you for writing this story. Thank you for acknowledging the ugly truth that some people are thoughtlessly prejudice and disabled access isn't as accessible as it claims.

I know that lush is an amazing store, but in England the shops are to crowded and the smell is so overpowering I can't even stop foot in a store without choking. I actually have to give the store a wide space the moment I am approaching one. The same happened in Germany. I need to visit America for the soul expressed purpose of visiting a lush store which is open and well ventilated so I can also join Lush as you do. I wasn't impressed with my (english) online options.

I really appreciated reading about such a different Bella and Edward. These two are very believable and taking out the "Brady" factor I could imagine this story happening.
