I love the fact that mcgee felt braver as gemcity, that was a great story aspect.
Thanks for the heads up about the LJ community. I'll totally take a gander

Aw it ended.
To quote Temperance Bones in the dwarfighting episode, "Bo!" :-)
| lucyferr chapter 3 . 12/22/2009
the Art Institute, the Field Museum, the Aquarium, and the Planetarium – were in the downtown area known as The Loop
Er... actually, only the Art Institute is. Field, Shedd, and Adler are further South, clumped together in an area called the Museum Campus. You did get the Roosevelt stop on the Metra right, which was very good of you. (You get marks for trying.)
As for Chicago's free newspaper - technically, the Red Eye is (or was when I lived there) a free newspaper. It's a tabloid version of a bigger newspaper meant to draw younger readers. But The free newspaper is the Chicago Reader, which someone like Dorothy is far more likely to read for its arts and culture sections :-)
I do like the t-shirt with Neville (rather than Harry) as hero.
I love that Nora has her own identity as well. Great premise for a fic - I didnt expect it! :-)

I beat both of them. I've read it 100 times each at least. I would go to midnight openings if they weren't on friday nights, when I can't go. I've been a witch twice for costumes andI not only write HPFF I read it...if you want to know how much, go check out my favs list (which, by the way, are all well written. If there is a bad one, pls tell me so I can remove it.) HAHA I WIN!

| alix33 chapter 4 . 9/25/2008
"“Believe me, Tony, we are all very familiar with your porny pick-up lines.” “The term is ‘corny,’ Ziva.” “I like my word better.”" - Yes, I like ziva's word better too, in fact, I liked it so much better I laughed out loud (in front of my PC at work, but it is fortunately so noisy nobody else even noticed!) when I read that bit.
"Tim grinned a grin that was very unlike him. Sometimes having an alias was a wonderful thing." - I like the mental pic I'm getting of that grin, I like it loads!
| andi chapter 4 . 9/24/2008
fun story:) I loved the episode when McGee's alter ego got to come out and play a bit even if it was for a undercover assignment.
| kim chapter 4 . 9/23/2008
Ohh, I can't wait to see what tim, I mean thom gets up to! Great fic by the way!
| precious pup chapter 4 . 9/23/2008
Thanks for going that extra chapter! I like the idea of Tim being comfortable enough to explore that other side of him and claim it a little more. It might even prove to be useful to him at work, undercover and in interrogation to be able to draw on that persona
| Precious Pup chapter 3 . 9/14/2008
Love it! I would love a shirt like that! I can sit next to My Little Pony one...oh and wonder woman t shirt. Oh you should do something else? i mean do they keep contact once he leave Chicago? I mean seems a shame they just have hours together. Sigh
Ha writes fan fiction *shakes head so sad... Grins

I don't have any suggestions other than I would love to see an epilogue to this story. You did a great job and I really enjoyed this third chapter. Keep up the great work and I'll be looking forward to your epilogue.

"Thom E. Gemcity plays and Timothy McGee must suffer the consequences, he thought with a groan as he downed two Tylenol." - That is SO funny!
"Besides, Tim had never been to Chicago before and, thus far, all he had really seen of it was a bookstore and a jazz club. And one of its women, he added with a smile, recalling Nora. He quickly scolded himself for lumping a woman in with other city attractions, as though she were a building or a museum. Thom E Gemcity may do that, but he was now geeky Timothy McGee, respecter of women. He grinned. In a way, he was a bit relieved to be back to his old self." - That made me love his McGee self even more.
"He slipped his coat on" - When you use the word 'coat', do you mean a longish winter or rain garment, going down to about his knees or his calves, or do you mean a jacket of some sort?
"Her red hair was under a polka-dotted head scarf, pulled into braided pigtails, bits of frizz sticking out all over, and she wore dark-rimmed glasses. Beneath her pink coat was a baby tee with a picture of Neville Longbottom and the words “My Hero.” She wore a loose khaki skirt over black leggings, scrunched up white socks, and black, lace-up boots. Despite all of this, Tim recognized her immediately. She was none other than Nora Delphi." - LOL! Busted!
" “Not professional, no, but I was a Webelos.”" - A term I'm now off to go and Google, thanks to you, as all I know is that is must be approximately grade school version Boy Scouts or something. Each time I see that bit in the RL ep, I think to myself: make a note to Google it, but I've never made the note as I had no clue how to spell it. OK, I'm back from Googling...
"“I’ve read every single Harry Potter novel at least twice,” Tim told her," - And them DiNozzo wonder why girls always like McGee loads...
" “I’ve read every single Harry Potter novel at least twice,” Tim told her, starting off small, but ready to pull out the big guns if need be. “So have I. In fact, I’ve read The Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, and The Prisoner of Azkaban three times.”" - I've read all seven HP books at leat three times.
"but I think I like Timothy McGee more.”" - So do I!
"I may or may not actually own a shirt with a picture of Neville Longbottom and the words “My Hero” on it. :hides said shirt behind her back:" - I want one similar, with a pic of Luna on the front and saying 'My Heroine', though after offing Naginni with Godric Gryffindor's word in DH, Neville will do very nicely too! And you need not hide said shirt if I'm around, as I'll grin as widely as possible, nod like a mad thing, give you two thumbs up and agree wholeheartedly.

"A guy who wore designer clothing," - Hey! My boy McGee does that! Season 4's 'Dead man talking' proves it! So he should stop being so hard on himself!
"and who considered Harry Potter to be for children." - As a dyed in the wool HP fan, I'm overjoyed that season 3's 'Silver war' proved my boy McGee isn't one of those!
"his copies of the Harry Potter books were worn from the amount of times they’d been read," - as are mine.
Cute, though I am worried Nora will hurt my boy McGee...
