|Reviews for Shadow's End|
| Desteni chapter 1 . 12/6/2012
This is a lovely one shot. It's beautifully written, full of emotion, and an intriguing perspective on the end of Ocarina of Time. I love that it's a different take on the story than you usually see around here too. And I can easily believe your version, it captured me from the first moment, and though it's not the way our heroes are usually portrayed, I agree with you that there's a lot of room for interpretation in the actions of a character in a video game who doesn't speak any cannon words.
I'm also a sucker for more poignant interpretations of the Legend of Zelda, and this story is easily a new favorite. Thank you for sharing it!

Awwww! Beautifully written! It's like a second chance at the end for Zelda because she'll be able to get to know Link properly without the strain of war, suffering or angst and junk. They can be happy! Or at least Link can, unfortunately for Zelda she retained her memories in this fic. Poor girl.
| Redbrush chapter 1 . 3/17/2012
That... was fucking amazing.
AThat was one of the best stories that I've ever read here on . I was really, REALLY impressed with it. You don't see stories with that kind of character depth and realistic elements that you provided. I don't normally like dark-themed stories like this one, but this is definitely an exception and you just earned yourself a follower.
I liked your portrayal of Link here, too, as a rage-fueled warrior who actually wanted nothing to do with this life of his. While I could have done without the specific details of him and Zelda's rough encounter (him abusing her), it WAS much more believable than most interpretations of this meeting that I've read about and I actually quite enjoyed it.
Props, Faye. Keep it up and I'll stalking around your profile for a while. I really do hope to see some more stories out of you.

Wow. Amazing job! Very, very well done.

Aaaaaaahhhh- *sighs in contentment*
This characterization of Link was certainly... non-typical. But it was so refreshing... I've never read anything, any fic, that personified Link as filled with such hatred, emptiness, and pain, and tiredness. And I've never read anything that... yeah. Had him direct all his fury and pain, hate mixed with love, at Zelda, of all people. Although I can understand. Wonderfully and brutally raw.
The ending was bittersweet. Zelda remembers, everything, Link doesn't (but oh my, is he cute).
I've always felt sorry for Link, and Zelda, and this has just reminded me of the reason why. A very nice piece of work.
Thank you so much for writing; I'd love to see more soon.

That is the most amazing story I've ever read for Link and 's gritty and dark-but done so artfully that it hardly matters. Even in the violence and pain they become not parodies but people. You can still see the original characters but on a much deeper and far more realistic level. They have a certain depth now.
Reading this makes me ache and I'm glad for it. Thank you for this experience. It is often an author's goal to make the reader think and react and the reader's pleasure, to feel. You've given me a wonderful gift.

Just... Wow. This was deep. I didn't expect Link to go partially insane for that moment against the Princess, but seeing as the circumstances were the way they were, I guess I really shouldn't have been surprised.
I liked the fact that Link actually -talked- in this fic. Being mute closes up so many wonderful possibilites. The ending was cute, I'll have to say. You kept me on the edge throughout the whole story. It was nicely done!

I love the character analysis!

See, normally I open my reviews with the phrase "This is an interesting story", but I don't think that would be adequate for this particular piece. The Ocarina of Time is not only my favorite Zelda game, but my favorite game of all time. You have put a spin on it that I have rarely ever considered. Everyone likes to put the idea on Link that he remembers his past and sometimes longs for the recognition of being a hero, for saving the people of Hyrule from the terror of Ganon. It never really occurred to me that he just wanted to forget, to go back and live the life that was taken from him. This is an excellent way to tell the story of the final encounter with Ganon, even though the final battle itself it omitted. (I've always thought the scene where he stabs Ganon in the face with the Master Sword was pretty epic.) Congrats on a well told story, I salute you on telling it in a different way without ruining all that is the Ocarina of Time. Good job.
| Rewind.Replay.Repeat chapter 1 . 12/30/2008
I love it how it seems so much more realistic. Link is not the happy, brave hero and Zelda is not the sweet, kind princess.
| Jose Galindo chapter 1 . 12/27/2008
pretty awesome story if you ask me! I liked it. You are an awesome writer.
| Elesariin chapter 1 . 10/21/2008
That was lovely. It made me feel almost sick to see so characters that I love so much so unhappy and disillusioned, but it was realistic. Link's anger was certainly understandable. I was a little taken aback when he hit her; I honestly don't think he would do that, no matter how furious he was, but again, this is a more traumatized, jaded version of the character than the one I'm used to seeing.

where should I start... weel this is a fanfic that does both Link and Zelda justice in a way, it was just so realistic that it gave me goosebumps!, thuoght more to Link than Zelda. I love the way you write it (so detailed, I like fanfics that way) Im really looking foward for more Zelda fanfics like yours, might as well check your stories.
