I really enjoyed seeing ran figuring out Conan identity. Then him telling her. It was a nice twist of pace.

The concern with not saying anything to Ran in the canon is pretty badly done because basically he does it because he wants to protect her out of the fact that living with the mouri condemns them by default to making themselves killed by the organization if Conan was discovered since he lives there. Anyway I can't see Gin leaving Kogoro or Ran alive with possibilities that they knew who Conan was.
After all Shinichi guesses that Gin was paranoid enough to force Kir to kill Akai to prove his loyalty to the hit organization it's quite strange that he doesn't think Gin would be paranoid enough to kill the Mouri out of suspicion of knowledge organisation.
After I guess it's to give us a drama on Shinichi / Ran but it is seen and reviewed and it becomes boring. It's especially more boring when they put passages implying that Haibara would have a crush on Shinichi.

The trick is easy. Conan is the imposter here, not Shinichi.

It weird that I only found this after... More than a decade and I will say that damn this is good, it gripped me by the hook from start to finish. Good job! ️️️

When it comes to Detective Conan stories I’m always hesitant to read them due to the fact a lot of them don’t pack the mystery elements in the right way to truly be enjoyable. I know for a fact that despite being a big fan of this anime/manga would never be able to pull it off myself. However, while a good mystery is a crucial part of the anime and manga it doesn’t have to be in a Detective Conan Movie as action and adventure are the focal point while the mystery can just be used as plot device.

But, then there’s you and your story. Not only did I find your mystery and adventure elements Grand and exciting I also in awe with your thorough continuity and references to past movies, chapters, and anime episodes. You are the rare one in a million rare jem that not only enticed me, I was so excited to continue reading the story I literally didn’t sleep all day and read through it in the night. My only regret is I didn’t find this story sooner so I could make it one of my favorites to reread again and again.

I hope you decide to continue this story just so I can see Conan’s new adventures with Ran as his partner, while giving Kogoro hints instead of knocking him out because I find it funnier when he accidentally solve the case with Conan‘s guidance.

A great story! Loved the perspective into Ran's mind; it made a lot of sense and felt pretty in character as well. It was really nice seeing her think for herself and coming to conclusions and deductions through her own intelligence, hard work, and determination. The way this story played out, too, felt just the right amount of real. From her questioning herself and then deepening her resolve, to having deep thoughts about what she wants and how her actions will affect those around her and the future, the conversations with Ai about what secrets really are, and even how her knowledge of the truth was revealed in the end... all of it felt well put together and more real than I was expecitng. I won't go so far as to say this is the best thing I've ever read; I think there could be some tweaks in some places regarding how sentences themselves flow and word choice every now and then, but over all I'd rate this story pretty highly.

Also, the epilogue was fantastic- loved the mystery, and how canon it felt. I just KNEW that guy was gonna die, and you did a wonderful job of slowly unravelling it and bringing things to light, as well as introducing the evidence and characters in the first place. Not to mention including how Ran and Shinichi came to a compromise on how cases would be solved and incorporating it into this case; after all, it IS the epilogue. Very well done. Thanks for writing and publishing this work, I enjoyed and appreciate it~!

I cried in chapter eight, I was stunned in chapter nine and every other chapter had me on the edge of my seat. I'm glad I found this gem even years after its completion. Thank you for an amazing read.

this is beautiful. i didn't expect to get so invested reading about ran's moral dilemma with the whole situation, the way it develops in an ironic twist where SHE becomes the one keeping a secret from shinichi... the scene with ai when she reveals her backstory, the scene where ran unfolds her deduction, they were both amazingly written, paced, and the dialogue was perfect. great characterization. this might even be too good to be called just fanfiction.
