|Reviews for Of Rowan and Ruin|
| Namei chapter 1 . 4/26/2014
Brilliant from the metaphor of the Rowan tree to the impeccable characterization and development
| strongerthananysword chapter 1 . 1/6/2014
It is two in the morning and everything hurts. I hate you! I love you! My heart! ;_;
| Maria chapter 1 . 1/2/2014
There's just so mixed tenderness and grief in this one piece. How lovely their friendship is!
| RighteousHate chapter 1 . 12/23/2013
you have left me speechless here... this is one of the most amazing lotr-fanfictions that i've EVER layed my eyes upon! i've always adored the friendship between the elf and the dwarf - for they are so very different species - and enjoyed their endless bickering almost to a fault.
| ladybug114 chapter 1 . 11/13/2013
that was the most beautiful thing I have ever read.
| Nonimouse chapter 1 . 8/29/2013
I was looking through my old LOTR stories and I have everyone of your stories bookmarked, even saved some to my computer. I have read so much fanfiction over the years, but yours is the best, hands down. I honestly believe you are the best writer in this fandom. All of your stories give me chills. I can now no longer read the original books without thinking about your stories and the way you describe the various thoughts and feelings of the characters.
I just wanted to say a big thank you for writing these stories and sharing them with everyone.
| Petrichora chapter 1 . 7/12/2013
I loved how this story intertwined itself with other one-shots you've written. I haven't read all of them yet, but I thought I caught references to: Seas of Fate, Seaworthy, and Trivial Matters (when Gimli slurped, I burst out laughing!). I also thought of Western Dawn and Beyond This World, and, if the summary is any indication, then it sounds like Fissures could also be added to the list. I'm afraid my fangirl is showing just a little bit: I absolutely adore anything you write, especially stories dealing with the friendship with Legolas and Gimli. I'm working on what I suspect will become a long, potentially over-crowded story unless I do some seriously plot pruning, and Gimli is quickly proving one of the hardest characters for me to write: I swear that he and Eowyn are conspiring against me! Reading your stories makes me feel better, though, because Gimli (and Legolas, and Aragorn, and Faramir...etc) is always so spot on, so I know it's possible to get him right outside of Tolkien's books!
Back to this story: I managed to keep from completely choking up and reaching for a tissue through the deaths of Gloin, Faramir, and even Aragorn, but dammit, Gimli's "A fool's hope, perhaps, but we have been fools before" was the last straw: I can't remember the last time I've had such a big smile coupled with such blurry vision.
| Blitz182 chapter 1 . 5/22/2013
This piece was pure beauty; I loved it. It almost made me cry! I love your use of the rowan tree, and I loved your writing style. It had a pure simplicity in it that layered emotions really well. Thank you for posting such a wonderful story!
| Gimlifan8 chapter 1 . 5/3/2013
Speechless. Legolas and Gimli has always been my favorite friendship in LOTR, and I'm amazed how well you portrayed these two. And the comparison to the Rowan tree...Totally worthy of Tolkein!
| Guest chapter 1 . 3/1/2013
But No intimacy
| Lune chapter 1 . 2/18/2013
This story is so nice, so true, so honest and right. That's how it should -must- have been like.
Thank you for writing it ! I really really enjoyed it, thank you !
| Guest chapter 1 . 1/19/2013
This is a really beautiful and moving story :). Thank you for sharing it!
| Window Girl chapter 1 . 1/9/2013
A beautiful and heartbreaking meditation on mortality. I love how you weaved the metaphor of the rowan tree throughout.
| InsideTheSky chapter 1 . 1/3/2013
I am trying to write a coherent review, but I can't, I can barely see the keyboard. I am not ashamed to admit it: I am crying. Okay, I'm going to go away now and you know, leave so I don't drown in feels. I loved this story3
| RittannasFire chapter 1 . 12/24/2012
I cried, there at the last. I have never read a story that spoke of how Gimli came to sail, I had never thought on it before. You did it so well, I can not really say what I would wish to. I don't even know what that would be. Thank you, a story well told is a fine gift.
