This was so beautiful I can hardly find the words for it. What a fantastic portrayal of their iconic friendship, during the time that we hear too little of it. This made me cry.

Your Legolas and Gimli are so faithful to the book, and so well rounded as characters, each with his distinct voice... And your writing style is very elegant and subtle. I've read this story a few times through the years, and it never ceases to move me. Thank you for sharing it.

This was beautiful, powerful, and touching. You managed the span of years this story covers so well, and I liked how you broke up the sections with the italics reporting the state of the Rowan. This was an absolutely joy to read. Your Gimli and Legolas are strong and distinct, and the frienship they have built is tangible. This is one of my very favorite Gimli and Legolas fics I have read on this site, and I have read...quite a few. Thank you for sharing this tale!

I have adored your writing for a long, long time. You are an extremely gifted author, and your works are filled with emotion and brilliant characterization... It's astonishing how well you write Tolkien's world.

I first read this fanfic a year ago, and I was deeply traumatized at the end of it. I think I truly caught a glimpse of the sorrow of Legolas' immortality, that he should be left behind while time blurs and sweeps the Fellowship away. I summoned the courage to visit this fic again today, and it in turn summoned the same grief.

It is wonderfully written. The strength of the friendship between elf and dwarf was very much apparent, and I died a little inside with the passing of Eomer, Faramir, and Aragorn. Rowans... I will never look at them the same again.

This is far too beautiful for words. All I have to say, my friend, is that you have outshone yourself once more.
