| sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 4/13/2013
Dean is the best brother! I like that Sam was able to roll with the plan even when he knew exactly what Dean was doing. It was helping. And their non-talk at the end was great.
| Yellowbulma chapter 1 . 11/8/2009
Really great story )
| Whilom chapter 1 . 10/29/2009
So much love for this: **“Growing boy,” Dean had said to the waiter with a smirk, and didn’t even jump when Sam kicked him under the table.**
And this: **“Hey, speak for yourself, man,” Dean quickly shot back. “Me, I’m friggin’ awesome.”**
You had a great mix of the boys' personalities in here: Dean's idea of therapy is perfect and so Dean, and Sam choosing to watch an Audrey Hepburn movie was very Sam-like.
| Fille de Tsuki chapter 1 . 2/3/2009
So sad and sweet! This is a lovely coda. It gives a sense of... well, not resolution, but a drawing towards it. I love the interaction between the brothers - Dean offering everything he can think of, and Sam quietly accepting the comfort, recognizing it for what it is. And if Sam had said he wanted ice cream, you just know Dean would have gotten him more ice cream than he'd know what to do with. _
As always, thanks for the story!
| BlueSea14 chapter 1 . 1/10/2009
This was excellent. It is so Dean, to try and make Sam feel better this way-movies, dinner, the offer of a drink... It's perfect, really. :)
| Phx chapter 1 . 11/24/2008
This is such a beautiful and subtle example of just how strong the bond between Sam and Dean is. It doesn't take jumping in front of a bullet for the other or loud proclomations of brotherhood or ownership of one another, but merely one brother just recongizing that the other is hurting and trying his best to help.
My favorite part is when Dean pats Sam's arm and 'forgets' to take his hand back. I really do miss the quiet subtle displays of affections.
This made me smile even as my vision blurred. Heart is still one of the gut-wrenching episodes of all time, IMO.
| charis-kalos chapter 1 . 11/23/2008
Dean is the Best Big Brother ever! Lovely wee story.
| doyouqueue chapter 1 . 11/16/2008
its so weird, i was actually watching this episode yesterday :D
i loved this phrase:
Dean’s shoulder hitched. “I was thinking a six-pack, actually.” A beat. “You want ice cream?”
hehehe it just cracked me up completely!
and the last part of the story is pure LUV! just wonderfully written. thank you!
| twinchaosblade chapter 1 . 11/15/2008
Great, that was such a lovely big-brother fic! I loved every second of Dean taking care of his grief-stricken brother; and Sammy appreciated the effort for what it was, pure brotherly love!
I have to admit that I wasn't too fond of 'Heart' or Madison but this tag was really heart-warming and worth every sentence.
| Tyranusfan chapter 1 . 11/15/2008
I loved this story the first time I read it and I still do. I like how Dean tries to reach out to Sam, and I wish they'd done a little more in the show. Great job on this!
| Ash8 chapter 1 . 11/15/2008
I've been wanting to get to this story for the last few days. :)
Lovely. Very stubtle and well, just them really. I love the way you just portray them as always being there for each other - no matter what.
| Nana56 chapter 1 . 11/14/2008
Great little fic! I love the progression of it. The initial failure and then the small success. And the "not talking about it". Very Dean and Sam. :D
See you tomorrow.
| TraSan chapter 1 . 11/14/2008
I can't tell you how much this soft, brother moment felt so natural between them and was so sorely needed. The brief one line each by the boys to acknowledge the event in "Hollywood Babylon" did nothing to satisfy my h/c quotas!
There were many nice details here, which are the things that really make a fic for me. The details among all the great lines of camaraderie.
Dean's hand lingering on Sam's arm in a gesture of support, removing the bottle cap with his ring and flicking it out into the darkness; Sam tilting his knife and fork on his plate like Jess showed him, his two beers to Dean's four, the boys doing something as mundane as a movie, dinner and drinking beer. All surrounded by quiet moments of comfort, familiarity, and light humor.

Very nicely done. I liked the "subtle" Dean attempt to distract his brother. And that Sam got it.
For some reason, this really tickled and touched me.
"Dean’s shoulder hitched. “I was thinking a six-pack, actually.” A beat. “You want ice cream?”"
| Ladyhawke67 chapter 1 . 11/14/2008
Another gem from my FAVORITE author! Is it just me, or did I catch the "shout-out" to Starsky & Hutch with the linguini and clams bit? God, I love you girl! YOU'RE THE BEST and you surely make my day with your fiction! KEEP 'EM COMING!
- Hugs to ya
