Sort of disapponting story. There was little change to the Dresden Episode and it read just like the script
| stealacandy chapter 2 . 11/15/2009
What are you on about? Dreden drives a beaten Beetle, and Bob doesn't have any other name, naming him gave Dresden power over him, because true name of people give you power over them in the Dresdenverse.
Furthermore, crossng beween Potterverse ad Dresdenverse should have more to itthan simply traveling from Europe to the States. It's a different kind of magic, and a different kind of society with a vary differet set of rules.
Wizards - and witches - in Dresdenverse get their gifts through the maternal line,inPotteverse it could be either from the mother or from the father, or be completely new (as in muggleborns) or not pass on at all (i.e. squibs.)
Wizards are both male and female in Dresdenverse, as are witches, who have a differet kind of magic, a weaker one, apparently, whereas in the Potterverse there's no difference between the two - only the sex.
Warlock is an honourary title in Harry Potter, and a name for a black magic user (who cannot use other kinds of agic but black) in Dresden Files.
Wizards in Harry Potter need wands to do agic. In Dresden files, they can do without - a agical focci, be it a rune-covered staff like Harry's, or a bracelet like Elain's, simply help them along the way, mae it easier and ess sternous.
Different wizards have diferent talents in Desden Files. For instance, Harry, IIRC, has a thing for fire-agic but cant cas a veil to save his life. Hes also good in divination - that is, divining the location of things... In Hary Potter, wizards may develop an expertiese in a certain area, but they all have the basic abilities in all wanded fields, and a vast repertoir of spells at their disposal.
There are more wizards in engand alone in Harry Potter than there are in the entire world in Dresden Files, or so it seems.
Dark creatures are a real and present menace in Dresden Files, whereas in Harry Potter they are a minor neuscence.
Wizards in Potterverse don't soulgaze. They don't blow up electricity simply by walking around it either.
The White Council is an international body, and rather small, all things told, and is based in Edinburgh in Scotland. The wizards in Potterverse are gathered under national or regional inistries or whatever.
So, unles they actually crossed to another dimesion and therefore the Wizarding Word as they know it, as a whole, won't exist there, the thing for the White Council wizards to do would be hand Harry and friends to the loca Ministry of Magic. And you, a the author, would still have to come up with a pausible reason as to how they can co-exist in the same world. As the Dresden Files world is much, much darker than that of the Potterverse.
Or you can come up with a good reason as to why they shouln't do it that's up to you, but what you can't do is simply ignore that issue and go on with the story.

A little nitpick before the praise. You have Harry mentioning a portkey but when this is set in the Potterverse they have no knowledge of them.
Now the praise, this is a fun and enjoyable read. I'm coming onto it late but am definitely glad to see it.

I enjoyed it, well done, you wrote for Dresden very well

I'm glad people were willing to read this though I wasn't very happy with it. It was my first attempt to move outside my regular fanfiction of the SWAT Kats. Truly, I hope the sequel to this will be better as it will take place at Hogworts and another one I'm planning of a crossover of the SWAT Kats and Harry Potter.
| generals tso n gao chapter 5 . 3/26/2009
while i like dresden files/harry potter crossovers, this story just seems like you took a dresden story and had the 'golden trio' as extras on the scene, since they did not really do anthing
| abandonedddXOX chapter 1 . 3/25/2009
Well, glad to say, I like this thing... From it's title to it's last words. On the scale of ten, 9.5

| shadewatcher chapter 5 . 12/11/2008
lol, poor both Harrys. neither has an easy life. would have been interesting if JK Rowling had done more on the topic of foreign wizards. as american's would be foreign to her any way. interesting idea, a travel portrait.
| shadewatcher chapter 3 . 12/11/2008
heh, i love that episode. poor Dresden didn't remember that evil can come in if you invite it, lol, and not just any evil a freaking dragon. nice choice for a scene setup.
| shadewatcher chapter 2 . 11/29/2008
