Reviews for Eternal Return |

![]() ![]() ![]() Wow. This makes at least as much sense as any explanation Rowling could give us for why Voldemort was the way he was. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I guess I agree with those previous reviewers about it being a very aesthetically pleasing end BUT I still think it was a cool end! It would certainly be cooler if we could figure out HOW to save Harry from this of course! |
![]() ![]() Sad but beautiful. Then that last line was the extra rich eerie and tragic icing on the eerie sad but beautiful story cake. |
![]() ![]() For all that I want to hate you for playing with our emotions I have to say: I can't. I can't because this is a very stunning story. The concept is not the most original, the 'plot' not the most logical (Because, why follow the time-line?) but the first is not relevant and the second is perfectly okay too, since this is a one-shot (sadly) and one can come up with reasons for oneself. Personally, I think that it is because at first he tried to follow the timeline and didn't want to change it (which is perfectly understandable because... he was reborn as Tom Riddle... so, already something is bad) and over time, he just went off the deep end. Again, very nice story. Sadly it is just a one-shot, but that is probalby what creates the charm. |
![]() ![]() ![]() this story... Wow! it was amazing! So beautiful |
![]() ![]() ![]() WHY WHY WOULD YOU POST SOMETHING AS TRAGIC AS THIS? WHY? YOU'RE SO TALENTED AT WRITING THIS FIC BUT GOD, THE FEELS! THE FEELS! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is horrifying. Beautifully written. Thanks! |
![]() ![]() Constructive criticism ahead (I love to give pointers to the author and to people reading reviews): I agree with a previous reviewer - the time loop at the end is aesthetically pleasing, for a lack of a better term, (actually, this whole story is aesthicially pleasing!), but plot-wise, not necessarily the best choice. It's one of those things which seems really clever the first time you see it, and then it just gets boring/cliché. If you were going for a mind-blowing conclusion, this honestly wasn't it, but the "aesthic" of it still does leave the reader satisfied. A second question/comment - why did Harry have to "follow the timeline"? I'm usually skeptical of these things, especially when the timeline is ALREADY changed by having Harry there in the first place. Starting a subtle pro-Muggle born campaign as Tom Riddle, for example, would probably have been an easier way to wipe out the evil than creating horcruxes. With all that out of the way - I enjoyed this! It was well-written, and captured emotion well. Nice and consistent style. Thanks for writing! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Why |
![]() ![]() Clever |
![]() ![]() ![]() The loop may look good aesthetically but story-wise Harry’s reason to follow everything that has already happened all again is just so very weak. It’s like he’s made a pawn of himself all on his own. |
![]() ![]() God I know this doc is so fuckin old but I keep coming back to it cuz it resonates w me as strongly as the first day I read it |
![]() ![]() ![]() this is utterly horrifying, nice work! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was absolutely amazing! Tragic, yes, but still one of the best fics I read. |
![]() ![]() ![]() nice :) |
