| fel chapter 8 . 12/2/2013
This fanfic is absolutely AMAZING! Seriously, please update soon because I can't wait to see some action if you know what I mean ;) I hope Oscar won't fall for Fersen...I really do. What I do hope for is more spicy scenes with Oscar and Andre 3 Update soon!
| Kitten Kisses chapter 8 . 3/16/2013
[That you murdered a maid to set up his grandson's daughter] I think you meant "wife"?
Aww, this is getting really good. I feel bad for Fersen, silly guy. But I'm feeling bad for Andre, too, because we don't get the chance to see much of what he's thinking or anything, but we know he's gotta be hurting.
Waiting for more updates of course. :D
| Kitten Kisses chapter 7 . 3/14/2013
THE END OF THIS CHAPTER. THE END. Ahhh, so cute. Also, if it makes you feel better, the horse-riding scene isn't in the manga at all. It was a really good episode though, and awesome foreshadowing for the anime...but still not original.
Anyway, this story just goes swimmingly well. (Pst, go away Fersen.)
| Kitten Kisses chapter 6 . 3/11/2013
Wow, I was so shocked to see this update I nearly died. And happy to see it, too! Thanks so much for posting it. I'm dying to see where this goes and I feel like I've gotten such a small taste of the bigger picture. Ahh, my patience, it's melting!
| Kitten Kisses chapter 5 . 7/19/2012
Gahhhh what do you mean this is the end of this chapter! I need to know what happens next, obviousssly. Sob. I was SUPER excited to see this update before work, by the way, and I blame you entirely on me wanting to re-read the manga. I even started doing so! Gah! And I've been rewatching episodes, too!
I wonder how Oscar being bros with Marie will change things. It's certainly getting interesting!
| Kitten Kisses chapter 4 . 6/28/2012
When I saw this update this morning, I nearly had a heart attack. I might have also sobbed joyously as I reread the entire story. It really is a cute 'fic, full of description and drama. I'm glad to see you're continuing it. (Really glad!) I got a little teary-eyed when Girodelle asked Oscar if they could remain friends and she smiled for real. It was so sweet. Aww!
Anyway, now I'm deathly curious to see what will happen next. I'm sad that Oscar's father died but from hereon out things should be...interesting. ;)
| Rember chapter 3 . 10/26/2009
Aw, it's really too bad you haven't updated on this for a while. It's REALLY good! xD I hope you continue! (Even if you probably won't...)
| Litterae chapter 3 . 6/12/2009
First of, let me pay you my compliments. This fic is exactly why fanfiction should be written. It is well thought out, it explores one of the most logical what ifs of this fandom, and it does so in a very agreeable, well-characterized and well-written manner.
It kind of saddens me that there has been no update for such a long time, and I hope that you haven't completely abandoned this wonderful little piece.
| lovelyduckling80 chapter 3 . 5/17/2009
I have to say, Oscar's characterization is tricky no matter what kind of story you write, and you've done it perfectly.
She's talented, but not to the point of Mary-Sue; she draws people around her in a believable way; I can even see both the drastic changes in her personality as believable in the Oscar I know(from the anime). I'm just... amazed, to be frank.
You've also successfully made her father even more of a bastard than I originally thought he was. Honestly, is it any wonder she's having an identity crises? I'm surprised she doesn't have a case of MPD!
And, of course, Andre, I love him AND his inferiority complex. Understandable, of course, but I find it adorable. And you've made him perfect as well.
Basically, you've captured the essence of tRoV perfectly, and I love you forever for it.
((I just hope it ends better for Oscar this time *tear*))
| A Secret Admirer chapter 3 . 4/14/2009
A completely lovely retelling. Andre is beautifully in character (as, somewhat unfortunately is Girodelle) and Oscar has the slight changes of her female upbringing - perfect, I can't wait for the next chapter!
| WhiteTigerLilly chapter 2 . 3/19/2009
Girodelle is awesome but no one is Andre! Update ASAP! Please! I will read it as soon as you post it! and I promise i'll review!
| WhiteTigerLilly chapter 3 . 3/19/2009
OMG. I am beggin with all my might! PLEASEE PLEASE Update!
I've been waiting for weeka and i am so loving this story!
| Tarika Nachtwind chapter 3 . 3/16/2009
This is quite a good story. I just recently remembered how much I loved to watch Lady Oscar as a child. You tell this story in a very believable way. Thank you for sharing it.
| loulou.k chapter 3 . 1/30/2009
Hello my dear!
I have been reading this chapter since the day of updating, everyday a read a little as much as the time allowed me to.
You have done a huge effort in writing, woW, more than 70 words for one chapter! But I don't mind actually, I'm enjoying reading tall chapters.
I haven't read anything beside Rov fiction for…..two years! I'm having problems in reading anything else, but this story I feel like it's a completely different thing.
Sure it's alternative, but that's not the reason, I can't see "the" Andre we used to know or "the' Oscar we used to know, I saw them now in a different way, another two persons having a different lives…..that's good, I mean at least for me, hehehehe.
Seeing Oscar as a real lady-an odd one, but still a lady- and Andre with his different acting toward her captured me, enchanted me, made me dream in every time you wrote Oscar with a dress and Andre helping here to ride/get out/get in….my heart jumbled at that _
Too many lines I would like to comment on, but my dear Manna had already did :P. soo beside what she said:
The first thing I've noticed here is that Oscar talks too much! Hehehehe, she's cute when she do that, and Andre is too patient at that, especially when he knew that she wants to say something and he pretending that he doesn't want to know or doesn't notice that…crazy two teenagers, _
Poor Girodelle, he's trying his best, I love that guy and I'm glad that he's in the scenes soo early.
How poor he is when he danced with Oscar and he thought that he/his words were the reason for her smiles .
That bring me a question, why do I feel that Oscar thoughts about Andre when she's with Girodelle had hidden meanings? Is it because Andre is the only man she used to be soo close, or she's…..she's starting to realize that she "loves" her friend…are we going to see Oscar fall in love with Andre or realize the meaning of her thoughts/ fears/hesitate are not just because he's her "Friend"…of course you don't need to answer me, I'll be as patient as Andre and wait _
I loved the way you wrote the conversations between the characters, that gives life to the story and make it more exciting….and sure you know how to do it, how to make each character speaks as his/she is really is.
The way Oscar acting with/around Girodelle is soo funny….and the funny thing is me too acting like that with every man shows interesting in me, and for the same reasons Oscar's did! So I understand her too well, hehehe
Oscar really getting crazy when she's in that green dress, hahaha.
And a green one? Oh, that match with Andre's eyes _
That last paragraph was full of action(Without hesitation, she ran up behind him and jumped on his back. He was obviously surprised by her sudden action, but got his footing and supported her weight quickly….“Hey, I thought you were going to rest,” he said. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and gave him a tight squeeze) O_O; wOW, she really did that? And it seems that she used to that, A LOT!.
She climbed a tree and fall and….( One slight movement and her boots slipped on the slick surface of the bark and she plummeted from the branch she had been standing on. André rushed to her, breaking her fall for the most part.) O_O; oh, my, that's…well, I almost fall from the chair while reading that!
(“Let me see,” he said. Oscar complied, lifting her skirts so André could remove her boot. His fingers pressed gingerly against her skin, and she hissed) Oh, my God! that's too much to me to bear!
(“So what do you propose we—what are you doing?” she snapped as he picked her up…“So what do you propose we—what are you doing?” she snapped as he picked her up.) all right! I'm feeling dizzy right know O_O;
Then Andre had a story/ challenges he faced in his life? How old he is now? 15-16?
Oh, girl, this story is going to be as enchanting as the original story was. _
I'm looking forward to the next update my dear, and I'll review too even if it took me a while too _.
| Kitten Kisses chapter 3 . 1/26/2009
Hi there Amber! I'm really sorry about my (very slow, very late) review. The internet and I need to take a break from one another. (Or rather, fanfiction and I need to take a break from one another.) I might end up giving up my resolution to write 365 drabbles this year. I've noticed I haven't really written anything else at all, and when I force myself to write, it sounds forced. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to play World of Warcraft like a loser and forget about this laptop for a couple of days. Of course, I did a pit stop in the RoV section while my character was going from Point A to Point B, and I noticed you updated, so I couldn't stay gone for very long, hehe.
I guess this means I'll have to update Say It's Possible at the end of the week. (Right before I flood everyone with drabbles.)
Anyway, it's 4:40am, and I'm going to go start my car. Usually I don't start it until just before 5am, or even after 5am, but alas...it snowed like crazy yesterday afternoon and I'll bet the roads just suck. So. Better to leave early just in case... Sigh.
Ugh, it's cold. The fire was pretty much dead in the stove so I restarted it... Hahaha. Too bad I won't be around long enough to enjoy it. :P
Now, onto the 'fic, and sorry in advance if this review is really lame.
[he understood why her encounter Girodelle was so funny] "encounter with Girodelle"
[“You’re the only boy who is allowed to use my ribbons,” she said.] I think I melted a little bit. Well, it put a smile on my face at 4:50am so that's saying something... Too cute. And I could totally see that.
[“You’ve only been to one party and danced with one man. Not much of a track record,” he said.] Aww, André isn't counting himself? P
[If she got married would she have to leave André behind? Her grip tightened around his wrist. He said something about her squeezing too hard, but she didn’t let go. Even if it meant a little bruising, she’d hold onto André as long as she could.] Aw, poor Oscar. The future is a scary place indeed, and Oscar has every right to be afraid of it, even if just a little bit.
I love Oscar and André's interactions in this story. They seem really close, and it's hard for most people to write them close without going overboard, but I think you're doing a great job so far. I had more to say but ugh, I'm so tired I can't remember what, exactly.
[“Well, what’s this? You have a little dove who thinks she can hide.”] My first thought was "Uggh!" and then, "Well, nice try, Oscar." Hahaha, Girodelle's so much fun.
I like how Girodelle's so excited to see Oscar smile. It means he's winning, haha. Seriously though, very nice.
[He longed for those days, when he wouldn’t feel weird about sneaking into her room, and the goodnight kisses that she would lightly press against his cheek.] Ah, the days before things got "complicated", eh? Poor André, but I like his thoughts here. Everything's changing... Oh, what's that song? "Time Marches On", a line says, 'The only thing that stays the same is 'everything changes.'
[André felt his heart wrench, something about Oscar being vulnerable around him made him want to do whatever she asked.] I think this holds true in canon, too, hehe.
[Nicole de Loncret] From Ever After.
[“Thank you my good sir. Now don’t get my hat dirty,” she said.] That is SO Oscar.
[“I can train them without a woman interfering with the process.”] Those are fighting words.
[He couldn’t tell her that he had no idea of how to pull away from her himself.] The story of André's life.
I like the description of how André treats Oscar differently... It makes good sense, too. Also, I have to go to work, so this review will have to wait until I get back since I'm not done yet. I'll be lucky if I make it to work on time as it is, whoops.
Okay, and now I'm back. No worries, I made it to work on time. D
[Oscar sometimes became so consumed with her own problems that she didn’t see that some people were battling the same issues.] I think this can describe not only Oscar in your 'fic, but Oscar in canon, too. It's one of her "faults", if you will. Even though André loves her, I'm sure he can see these faults. He's not totally blind to her bad qualities. He's only blind to her in general. At any rate, I think this is her biggest fault (being consumed with her own problems) because for example, in the anime we see her drinking. Why? To drown her own problems, or forget things that aren't even her responsibility that she might feel are her responsibility, regardless. To be honest, I've thought maybe that's the root of the problem with her not realizing that André loved her. Everyone's always all, "How could she not see? It was so obvious!" But when you remember that she thought they were "best friends", and that she knows her station (as a noble) and André's station (as a servant, though she might not like it), and you add on the fact that she was going after someone unattainable (Fersen) and then staring into the bottom of a glass of wine (or stronger alcohol) instead of up (where she might have seen André's love and/or adoration of her), it starts to make more sense.
[Another rather strange rumor was that Oscar was a trained assassin that the king had so he could root out his enemies. She had no idea how that one got started.] HAHAHA. Maybe André started it?
[She wanted to be a man so she could have more freedom.] Oh, the irony!
[She knew t his was an odd wish] 'this' has a space in it accidentally.
[Without hesitation, she ran up behind him and jumped on his back. He was obviously surprised by her sudden action, but got his footing and supported her weight quickly.] I pictured that. So easily. And it was adorable. I could see Oscar doing that. Just because she can. She's epic enough, am I right?
[“No, but we can walk somewhere together,” she said. He let her down and she couldn’t help but grin at him. She couldn’t explain it, but she loved the way he smiled. The way his eyes crinkled up made his green eyes gleam in this dreamy way. Of course, she would never tell him that.] BAH, what do you mean, "no"? Don't lie, Oscar. Also, instead of "way his eyes crinkled up", it should be, "the skin at the corners of his eyes" maybe? Because eyes don't crinkle. Hahaha. And it puts "eyes" twice in that one sentence.
Hahaha, no, I suppose Oscar can't limp very fast. Though I've had to do it myself before when I pulled my knee and had to work. Ugh.
[André didn’t chide her about the fact that she didn’t heed his warning, nor did he make her feel inferior for a moment of clumsiness.] One of André's best qualities, IMHO. But if he did chide her, you know that there would be no malice behind his words. Which is good.
[“I’d be better at it than he is.”] HAHAHA, damn straight.
[Something about his silence made her wonder…what kind of challenges did he face in his life? Some day she’d find out she was sure.] This says more good stuff in the future, am I right?
Anyway, I loved this chapter. Girodelle is still awesome, Oscar is still, well, Oscar, and André is his calm patient self. You already know I can't wait for the next chapter. Oscar's beginning to understand some things, and André is too. These things aren't so different as they might believe them to be, though.
Anyway, I'll shut up now and let you get back to whatever it was you were doing before you read this review. Take care of yourself and update soon!
