This was seriously amazing. If I wasn't so terrible at writing reviews' I would write a lot more. I loved your writing style, and how realistic the FF was. Oh yesss, and did you mean that you haven't edited the 3rd and 4th chapter, or have you already done that? Geez, that didn't make any sense at all xD Anyway... Thank you for this wonderful Fanfiction! I mean, it seriously might be the best Finny/Gene fanfiction I've ever read :3

Your writing is gorgeous and honest. It's a bit blunt, but it's very Gene in a no-nonsense kind of way and the way their relationship is portrayed here is so natural and unhurried and not forced at all. This is exactly how I picture them. How mostly they don't have to say anything at all to understand each other. UGH
Thank you so much for writing!

You are an absolutely AMAZING author. XDD I don't even know where to start... I felt like I was reading the sequel to A Separate Peace that never was... The dialogue was spot on, the characterization was freakin' excellent (the character act like well...the characters) It was absolutely. Epic. Nothing was done in a way that was unrealistic- and you picked up from the very difficult ending that Knowles blessed us with. As a fan I strongly encourage and support a chapter 3 ;D
Best of Luck!

THIS FANFIC NEEDED TO BE IN THE BOOK!
There were at least fifteen places in that whole novel that hinted Finny and Gene to be a couple, and I expected the both of them to like make out at any moment!
Beautifully written and expertly coriagraphed, Nothing Else Matters is the chapter that should have been in A Seperate Peace!
A Seperate Peace Yaoi in Disguise!

This is possibly one of the best Fanfictions I have ever read. You captured John Knowles writing style and Gene and Phineas' personalities perfectly! This truely was like an alternate ending that could have fit seamlessly into the novel.
Thank you so much for writing such a lovely piece of fiction.
| The White Dahlia chapter 1 . 7/2/2009
Hi there! I know I already fav'ed this story but I wanted to drop in and leave you a little review as well.
I remember reading A Separate Peace and feeling like there HAD to be more that the author wrote. The book ended and I felt like I was left hanging. It wasn't until my friend asked me in English if I thought that Gene and Finny were somewhat a gay couple that I knew that I couldn't be the only one who caught it; I wasn't.
Your story finished A Separate Peace for me. It tied up loose ends, made me "aw" and smile throughout the whole thing. I only wish there was a bit more to the story- but I'm completely happy with what you wrote.
Such a cute story, and something I can totally believe Gene and Finny would do, (Almost like a missing chapter from the book) I'm glad you wrote it. I don't know if John Knowles could have written it any better.
A loving reader, The White Dahlia :)

Beautiful wording and imagery! I adore the ending, too. If only!

...great story. I remember reading this awhile ago and you've revised it. It reads wonderfully and remains so true to Knowle's novel. There were a few parts where I wasn't sure who was talking because you had both characters talking in the same paragraph, but otherwise was perfect. Nice work.

I really don't think you got enough credit with just one review. It's been months since I left one. A review I mean. But your story really deserved it, and you made a very cohesive, believable continuation to the story, successfully using your own writing style to highlight the original author's tone and story. The only thing I would say to its downside would be that as a reader I was occasionally confused as to who was speaking. Other than that, I have no complaint, the story was a beautiful canon-set tale, and you put the unspoken relationship in the book into words, and brought it to life. Thanks for writing, your story blew my mind.
| Dorryen Golde chapter 1 . 1/19/2009
Okay, I have now read this for the second time, and, like the first time, it made me cry. This fic brought a lot more closure for me than the book did because-besides the fact that Finny still lives, obviously-when reading the book, I was never completely certain whether or not Finny truly forgave Gene. It made me uneasy, but this fic was the perfect remedy. For all his shortcomings, Gene had this profundity in him, a depth of emotion that Finny, in all his naivete and innocence, could only experience a fraction of. I could really hear Gene's voice in your narration, a voice that was consistent with the novel's themes of friendship, love, and redemption. Everyone was perfectly in character, especially Phineas. Though I love Finny, I couldn't completely associate with his character in the novel because, next to Gene, he seemed to pure, too perfect, a sort of Christ-like figure. While your fic let him retain a sense of divinity, you wrote him with more humanity.
Lovely fic, lovely writing. I've only recently read the book, and this is a great companion to an otherwise depressing reading experience.
