|Reviews for Comin' On Christmas|
| TolkienGirl chapter 1 . 1/18
When you combine awkward teenage Dean with Tolkien and Christmas, you take my feels to a whole new level :)
| steepedinwords chapter 1 . 8/19/2012
Dad looks amused. "Your commas. Of course. You know, I wouldn't have thought a kid who can read The Lord Of The Rings six times cover to cover before he's fourteen would have much trouble with commas, of all things. I mean, that's a pretty weighty book, with some pretty fancy language."
I laughed out loud at that, but the end... gosh, just tear out my heart and stomp on it, will ya? (Oh wait, Kripke already did that. Besides, I must be masochistic because I always go back for more.)

I like Dean's rather clever gift. At least a whole month after Christmas is a very long time in thirteen year old romances.
| Willow-Bee the Cat chapter 1 . 5/7/2010
Very nice. Very sweet.
| Marlowe97 chapter 1 . 6/20/2009
That was sweet and sad and I could picture Dean lost in the mall, looking for the perfect gift. Really sad. And really sweet. He is a ladies-man - always has been...
| wild wolf free17 chapter 1 . 3/18/2009
This is so adorable! They meet again, right?
| Coffeecake and Tea chapter 1 . 3/7/2009
It was cute, it was funny, but it was also kind of sad.
Makes you think, "Well John's dead. And Dean's never gonna see HER again."
Really sweet, though. Realyl touching.
Keep up the good work.

Oh my gosh, you brought back all those feelings of puppy love! I was silently cheering and beaming along with Dean at the end... and then completely deflated with the last sentence. BEAUTIFUL writing and simply outstanding story-telling. But that almost goes without saying.
| hitchcock-starlet chapter 1 . 1/10/2009
This story was so adorable. Little Dean was cute, and I'm glad we got the slightest bit of John in there as well. I think you've also offered a unique perspective on Dean's commitment issues- they never stayed in one place long enough for the poor guy to have a relationship! I love Christmas stories. Thank you for the gift!
| the muse77 chapter 1 . 1/8/2009
Poor Dean *sniff*. Excellent story :)
| waterlily85 chapter 1 . 1/6/2009
Yeah more fanfic crack! Love it as always. My favorite part was:
Dean knew he shouldn’t have mentioned Mom. He shuts the bedroom door behind him and jumps on Sam, who promptly hits him with a pillow, and they don’t stop shouting and throwing stuff until Dad yells at them to get their asses into the kitchen now, please and thank you.
The please and thank you cracked me up. Totally a John thing. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but Dean getting roudy with Sam came across as Dean wanting John something else to focus on and I found that really sweet.
| smokeyhorse chapter 1 . 1/5/2009
This was so cute! And then the ending made it so bittersweet. Loved it! Great work!
| Twinchy chapter 1 . 1/3/2009
Aw, Dean's just adorable when he's looking for presents. And I think the sketchpad was really such a great idea of his to give to Rebecca for Christmas.
My heart hurt deeply for poor John though when his oldest asked about what kind of presents he got for their Mom. Even after all this time, the wound was still raw - and never truly healed up with Daddy Winchester.
I liked about your characterizations of the little family especially that Dean knew when to grant his dad some space to get his bearings again, the way he pillow-fought with Sammy to pass that time for both boys and the tender reprimand (rather than yelling) he got from John for lying about his English class.
Lovely, that Rebecca got him something in return (drawing Smaug was really a brilliant thing to do for someone who liked reading Tolkien) and was very happy about the sketchpad.
Their soon-to-take-place move away probably wasn't something that could have been avoided. Even though I'm not entirely sure if John considered that happenstance an advantage or a disadvantage with his eldest's new-found attention of the other gender. LOL

Bitter sweet. Like it! Thank you for giving them a month at least...most wouldn't have given him that.
| theviewfromhere chapter 1 . 1/3/2009
That was pretty angsty... but in a completely believeable, Winchester-esque way. Great job!
