I was always wondering that he could study for seven years straight, considering he trained so much before. I mean wouldn't he miss the exercise.
Also with everyone being able to sense power levels how could they miss Goten's and Trunks transformation? Even if they transformed with a lower base power level it would have been a massive increase in power and even if no one is focused they should have been able to pick it up, especially Gohan considering Chi-Chi and Goten trained outside the house.

You should write more Piccolo/Gohan fics. I was always bothered how Goku decided to stay dead for seven years and leave Gohan to grow up on his own. I think Piccolo was more of a dad to Gohan than Goku was.
