| John Spangler chapter 1 . 7/24/2014
I've always loved AUs, and in this story not only I've found a good one, but an AU so dark that it makes the original look like a fairytale. And Light...he's always a madman, no matter the universe he's in. Thank you for having written one of the best stories I've ever found on this website.

Death Note characters do love their dramatics, don't they?
| Grrrrr chapter 11 . 4/24/2014
Reality shows are evil.
| Grrr chapter 8 . 4/24/2014
Priestess misa is so funny.
| oursolemnhour49 chapter 50 . 12/31/2012
I'm not going to lie, this story confused the hell out of me at some parts, but it was utterly awesome. The world in this place felt so complete and horrible, and the merging of the human and shinigami worlds was well done (and really nightmarish). I loved how you developed some of the characters we might not otherwise have gotten the chance to see- I loved Naomi in this, and her death absolutely gutted me. It was so interesting have her be Light's last remaining constant, and her interactions with Ryuk were strange, but exactly what I would have expected from her. The language of this story was amazing, and I loved all the imagery, even if I didn't always follow it. Amazing work, and I'll definitely be checking out more of your stories :)
| Feather Painter chapter 50 . 12/14/2012
Wait so Neal escaped? Won't Light go after him and ensure that he's dead? I feel like it's incomplete, but I think I like it his way better. It fits the chaotic storm that forms a story. I don't know how you were able to use such words and create such a story, but it's one of the best I've ever read. It describes war more clearly than I ever wanted to know about it. And that character development! I was blown away, to say the least. The steady descent into insanity that's caused by war and loss was depicted eerily clear, and I admire you a lot for writing this.
| Khorale chapter 50 . 11/2/2012
Great story, probably one of the best I've ever read. I can see how much everyone changed after comparing them from the beginning and now.
I know it's too much to hope that you'll be writing a sequel, because the ending was perfect, but I want to read more.
And I had a feeling that Light wouldkill himself after making sure Neal is actually splattered to the pavement below, because there's nothing left. I don't usually like insane!Light or angst fics, but congradulations, you had managed to write a realistic non-whiney likable AU!
| Arysthae chapter 50 . 9/18/2012
This story was chilling and confusing and insane and I still haven't a clue what happened. It was great writing, I just wish I'd understood what happened in the story. Nice work, anyway.
| maybelling chapter 50 . 6/6/2012
All I can really think to say is that this is probably the best fic I've ever read, and that I really must get around to rereading it someday.
| Zarohk Korobase chapter 48 . 5/21/2012
This is one of several reviews for the overall story, especially the ending, since I know that I have more to say than I think of at the time of a particular review.
YOU! ARE! A! BASTARD! Ending the story on such an odd, otherworldly, and bizarre-yet-wonderful-yet-horrible note, you have forever ruined me for any other mindtwister stories. The ending, and especially when I realized after a month that it was actually the ending and there would be no more, made me literally curl up into a ball, whimpering, as my mind tried to make sense of the divine psychological panopticon you have created, with Light among the prisoners while L is non-existant. I loved how Ryuk had his role, and then left, and how the Shinigami and the humans, faceless with pale masks of bone, stand alike and indistinguishable in the end.
I only wish that I could have gotten the chance to suggest a song for the header: Enough, by Disturbed. The pertinent lyrics were so appropriate to this work of art, (which by the way, is the Death Note equivalent of Robin4's "Promises Remembered" in that it far surpasses the canon on which it is based) that I was surprised that you hadn't found it and used it.
This is just a summary of the fall/rise of Light Yagami as a soldier, in song form:
Take their hope away,
Take their life away
Leave them nothing left inside
When your own men died
When there's no more pride
When your soul is frozen
Is that enough?
When your heart is broken
A thousand times
With every moment
Is that enough?
That made me think of your writing and I was once again awed by your prowess as a writer.
Please write more of your awesome style, (and thanks for the update on "All You Need is Love").
| Ruin Takada chapter 50 . 4/12/2012
D of C,
Wow... is... is that it? Is that the end? Really? I mean, it's a lovely ending, but still... the end?
What happens next? Who lives? Who dies? What the hell?
I cannot talk to you properly yet. It's my birthday today and I'm meant to have lovely surprises, not wtfs.
This is slightly worse than the time you killed Sayu.
| Ruin Takada chapter 49 . 4/7/2012
D of C,
No promised snaps, but this is pretty damn incredible. I can't wait for the end. Is it really going to end in the next chapter? I don't mind if it does or if it's dragged out a bit longer. All I mind is that I am up to date and scared for the ending.
No one is safe.
Thanks, I'll be keeping an eye out for it.
| Ruin Takada chapter 48 . 4/7/2012
D of C,
What. The. Hell. I know war changes people, but still. Bloody Hell.
I'm a bit too shocked to elaborate, so, sorry.
| Ruin Takada chapter 47 . 4/7/2012
D of C,
I think I'm serious this time when I say that it's all coming together now. I really am. All this fighting, bleeding, dying, it's getting quite sick.
I don't think Light has QUITE snapped yet. he's just getting there. In any case, he's madder than the hatter.
| Ruin Takada chapter 46 . 4/7/2012
D of C,
Okay. Ew. Mr Twist-Mouth, you can drop the woman now. Please, do. She's not like Rachel the inflatable girlfriend with a bad puncture (bad reference, yes). She's a corpse that has probably... okay, ew, I'm going to leave it at that, because I'm grossing myself out over here.
