I liked this chapter. Aragorn was wise to warn Boromir.

I have been reading more of your stories and I just can't get enough! You are such an awesome writer! I only write a little bit and not really about anything interesting but my e-mail is coffeeraptorXgmail com and if you want to e-mail me I could send you back some of the stories I've written. Most of them are not ever two paragraphs but I try. Your Quarantined chain of stories would make a good movie. I would watch it any way. Thank you for writing- Abby
P.S. do you like my user name (Abigail Peredhil)?

Fantastic story! You had just the right blend of drama and humor (your depiction of the hobbits and especially Frodo are some of the best I've read.) I always enjoyed the Aragorn and Frodo fics and you've put so much into their friendship.
This is definitely a favorite! :)
| Angelfabeth chapter 19 . 6/28/2012
Great story! I like the fact that Legolas is prominently featured here, though I may be a little biased :) I've noticed that your grammar and spelling are very... what's the word?... good I guess. There's another word that would describe it but I just can't think of it... Ah well, no matter. Keep writing good stories!

| Darkover chapter 19 . 12/23/2010
Dear Shirebound: Another excellent story! "Holding Back the Flood" had an inventive plot, excellent characterization, beautiful imagery-I loved your descriptions of both the caves and Rivendell itself. But the best parts of this story, IMHO, were the uses you made of the characters, all of them. The friendships of the Nine Walkers really began to develop here, and I loved the romantic way you wrote of the Aragorn-Arwen relationship. Frodo's riddling with Aragorn, and getting the Ranger to do his bidding, was very amusing, as was the friendly squabbling between Gimli and Legolas-especially as the arguing led to greater understanding and friendship between them. Thanks for writing and posting this. Sincerely, Darkover

Arrgghh! I can't help staying up insanely late to read your stories in one sitting! They're so good! The Nazgul using the stones to try and get Frodo again is brilliant. I like the idea of the earth itself being used as a weapon. It fits with the idea that trees, rocks, etc. in Middle-earth are almost sentient.
You got Legolas and Gimli's arguments down so well. And you're one of the best Hobbit-writers I've found on , if not the best.
| Tony WildRiver chapter 19 . 5/26/2010
*Applause* I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed that. All the characters were expertly written and explored and the writing itself keeps to the style of the books, as your stories tend to . On a closer note, I adore how you write Legolas and Gimli. Chapter 17 cracked me up most pleasantly. A deserved fav and I think I have read and enjoyed even of your stuff to merit an author fav as well. Excellent work, I think you do a marvelous tribute to Tolkien _
| Shipwright's Trick chapter 17 . 3/23/2010
Ah, yes. We must have our fluff. : )
What a chapter! I read most of it aloud to myself, chuckling all the while at the antics of...well, just about everybody, really!
'"I am utterly confused," Boromir announced to no one in particular.'
And that was only the short version! : )

This story is beautiful, is amazing how I always seem to find your stories when I'm down.. and they never fail to lift me up :)
You got all your characters right and you give them a life that is sometimes lacking in Tolkien's stories, I so love this of your tales!
The crystal at the end was a lovely touch and you linking the bridge in your story to the one in the Aragorn and Arwen scene? Completely amazing! Thank you so much for this :), be well, hugs!
