Brilliant, even if the ending was a cliffhanger! I loved Logan’s evolution, and the relationships he developed. You did a wonderful job with making this a complete AU while still retaining the Tolkien-ness of it all.

Logan is a fcken moron. Genuinely st*pid! The only way to explain how he's acted is if he has a very, very low intelligence score. God... I was already getting the sense Logan was kind of dumb in your story, but that scene in particular instantly ruined your version of him for me. I won't give him the benefit of the doubt that he's just confused or doesn't want to accept what he already knows. It was THAT stupid and it spoke to how low you set the bar for him.

How about give the ring a 'fake' picture of what's happening so the ring will think it's doing something. If your good at occlumency give the ring a special 'sandbox' to play in so it will think it's controlling you when in fact it's not.

Did you know that Rivendell as pretty as it is is NOT energy efficient in the slightest and actually would need a lot of changes to meet today's nanny states?

For one the windows (or lack of) allows heat to escape very quickly and they are down in a canyon hole so colder air always sinks which means they are a huge frost pocket in the fall thru mid spring months (depending on latitude and other factors).

They also burn thru coal like a mini coal power plant as they all use fire places and use the dirty coal that has been outlawed since the early 70s. The fireplaces would be one of the first things banned under Obama but never fully enforced.

Obama tried to actually ban fireplaces but was called out at that time the Republicans were locked illegally out of their offices. A mayor from PA read the bill and it outraged citizens there and they spread the news which of course was kept out of MSM press though it appeared briefly.

Ron Paul also read the Stimulus stuff and one of the things they banned was lightbults for the Obama bulbs which were more dangerous until LED lights came out. The mercury bulbs you cannot throw away without going to a special place if you drop one mercury explodes everywhere.

I saw an infrared video of what happens if a mercury bulb breaks or explodes from overuse. It's not pretty and if you throw it away your liable for environmental lawsuits due to the high potential of leaking mercury.

This is why mercury thermometers stopped being a thing. Remember those backyard ones with pretty designs?

How do we know the one ring is evil anyways? Just because it fell into the wrong hands doesn't make it the rings fault it means it's the ring bearer that's the issue. If the evil ring bearer had a gun he would probably be tempted to do something he shouldn't be doing.

99.9 of US citizens that are registered hunters and gun owners and believe you me there are WAY more then the media tells you and they don't abuse their firearms. If the few do it's not the firearm's fault or the manufacturer's fault.

I think Logan's brain would explode from Star Trek at least anyones from the 90s or earlier as they require thinking and spirituality,morality concepts something Logan doesn't get .
