a heart wrenching one at that.
i still think some characters deserved better…but…well it’s all for the story.
If there’s a tiny piece of feedback, it would be to just be a tiny bit more optimistic/hopeful with the characters. Don’t get me wrong, the ending shouldn’t be changed - at all - but it’s hard to read a constant stream of angst angst angst ykwim?
Nonetheless, solid prose, good characterisation. 7.5/10

I like the ending of this chapter. The contrast between surroundings, and events is really strong, and impactful.

Interesting conclusion. A nice read. There were some odd skips where certain things were offhandedly mentioned or needed to be assumed by the reader, and the pacing near the end was a little fast. One person I heard suggested that Shinji could have come back and witnessed all of the pain caused by his absence, and I think that would have been an interesting alternate ending.

Jesus Fucking Christ what did I just read. So well written. So depressing.

I like how this story was and I know you state that the story is done but I would love for you return and finish this interesting story but since this story is dead I can only hope.

Shinji getting a body back and somehow gaining consciousness as himself would have been the absolute most painful thing to tack onto the end of this-him waking up only to see what his death has done, and other people being so fucked up by the resulting consequences that followed it that him being alive again only makes them suffer more.

This fanfic is a nice "What if" scenario here. And at last, they were all fucked. About Asuka, since one specific one-shot, I never thought about her, cutting her hair. Asuka with short Hair is so unimaginable for me, and becoming a operations director also. Portraing Maya as a backstabing bitch is the most ironic thing of all. She was just scared.

I didn't think that a fanfiction could be darker than the original, but your story really shocked me. It's so wonderfully tragic that...hell, I can't find the words. However, great job!
