Good lord... This is one of the hottest scenes I've read! *makes a mental note to find someone to try this with*
| Amita4ever chapter 22 . 8/13/2012
What a dubious delight to find so long a completed story... Why dubious? Well, I WAS supposed to go to sleep last night - lol. "Just one more chapter; just one more chapter; okay, shut down after this chapter; okay, after THIS chapter... It's 3 AM? Ah, Nuts... okay, after this chapter..." I kept telling myself I should slow down and leave a few chapter reviews, but I found myself clicking NEXT instead... I just couldn't wait for the next chapter! Forgive me.
I just have to say, Riddick can be a hard character to write sometimes, especially to twist in the direction you were going, but I thought you did a marvelous job. From the moment Riddick stepped on the scene - literally, cloaked, roles with Toombs reversed - I was thinking, "This author knows their characters. This is going to be a good one." I wasn't wrong. You have a good grasp of his dry one liners too :).
I did find myself wondering what the impetuous behind the ReGen Project was and (beyond Aereon's push, but would she have that much?) why Furya (or was it clearly explained and I missed it - that is a possibility considering how late I was up reading *grin*). Furya wasn't the only planet the Necros destroyed and that's a LOT of resources to invest when you don't even know if your main source of native DNA is going to cooperate, but the 'we now join the ReGen Project, already in progress' introduction was a good way to skirt the issue. Decisions made, resources committed, project underway, everybody already in the know and on the same page so no real need to dwell on justifications or history. It wasn't too distracting.
The smut? I don't normally read that sort of stuff, but in dealing with this character, it really is a logical way to start. Riddick isn't going to stick around long enough or have the inclination to start any long term relationships, so your premise is a logical place to start. (I ran into a similar situation in one of my stories - lol - how do you maneuver Riddick into putting up with a character he probably wouldn't normally tolerate... lets start with money.) And the reader is not going to see the relationship develop unless they see their interactions from the beginning, so it fits. And I love how you handled it from the start - the massage and the consideration, and it's still all about control.
Your treatment of his 'animal' was interesting. Jackie showed that dealing with the internal animal didn't have to be such a war, but it was still a powerful force. I found myself wondering if you had all Furyans equipped with such distinct 'animals' or if Riddick's was more powerful because he was the Alpha. How would that affect them culturally? Societally? And I like what you did with the hand print - I play with that in one of my stories too.
Was a little bit disappointed when Nicola managed to recover Riddick from Toombs. After splitting his side open with a potentially, even if not immediately, fatal stroke, I'd have thought a few paragraphs or more would be spent on dealing with the results. Seemed like a good opening for a bit of physical distress and/or hurt & comfort, but jumps straight to a physical reunion - well, almost - with nary an indication of healing (or was this another late night lack of observation on my part?). Threw me off for a minute. But your episodes when Riddick really does have to deal with debilitating weakness are powerful.
But I have to say that one of the strong points of your story is even when I hit something that might be perceived as a hiccup, your story never really gave me much chance to dwell on it. It kept pulling me along and I never felt 'thrown out'.
I also appreciated seeing the evidence of experience/research in several fields from knife sharpening to the eclampsia. I find myself wondering if that far in the future there will be new ways to deal with such issues, but no reason to assume - certainly not if it puts Riddick on his knees saying "I love you." GRIN
Loved Puppy, and I have to say throwing magic into the Riddick-verse was something I hadn't seen before - an interesting twist. Your plot kept turning and curving in ways that weren't wholly predictable and were quite enjoyable. Even right up there to the end when Riddick gave his son the knife 'to hold', I was thinking they are probably going to be glad they did that, but having not seen Dexter (I don't think you need to apologize for borrowing plot ideas - I'm willing to bet the Dexter writers borrowed it from somewhere else) I didn't see the 'Aiden saves the day' ending coming. It was satisfying to see him step into justified bearer of the Alpha Furyan genes there at the last moment. Gave all the characters a well rounded 'right to be there' feel, which Aiden hadn't yet earned completely.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and it's being added to my favorites in spite of the smut ;)
(I feel for you beta - lol - mine is the has proclaimed herself the comma-nazi)

This is the most amazing Riddick story I've ever read. Yes that seems like hyperbole but damn if it's not the truth. For the better part of a week I've been browsing through the 1200 stories posted on this site trying to find something-ANYTHING-that kept to the Chronicles of Riddick canon and was interesting and immersive. This went so far beyond my expectations I'm literally fighting the urge to reread the story. The characterizations, the dialogue, the settings, the emotion-all so very real... I feel like I just watched an entire movie play out in my mind, and walked out of the theater dying to call a friend and say "Holy crap you have GOT to see that!" (honestly I did msg a couple of people with links to this story, so that's the same thing, isn't it?) Thank you for writing this. Excuse me while I go read the rest of your Riddick stories now XD

I just realized from this chapter. What if Riddick's middle name is just the letter 'b?' My father's middle name is just the letter 'm.' So when you think of it is quiet possible.

This isn't exactly a review..more of a message. Couldn't find a way to say it otherwise. I've bounced around a bunch of other stories on here...yours I found first. I find myself Comparing you to them and they are seriously lacking. I absolutely love the way you ...spin your web. Hard To find an equal. You rock..keep it up :-)
| Amy chapter 12 . 1/29/2011
I have a 7 year old son. I skiped pre eclampsia and went right into eclampsia. Seizures, coma, seizures, coma..I was in icu for a month. Today we are both fine..even though we both died a time or two. You wrote extremely accurate. I have no memory of the incident...or even being pregnant. Your words are addicting. I'm reading this on my phone...and I'm pissing through my battery like nothing. Because of you I've had to move my phone charger near my bed so I can sprawl out and read. :-D...thanks
| Stormy Night chapter 11 . 1/29/2011
...Jesus. 2 days ago I found your story while I was looking for a riddick picture...don't know how I found you. ..so for two days my husband and son have eaten microwavable diners and I haven't left my reading nook but for the absolute necessities. Absolutely fantastic writting. More addictive than crack (untested theory ). I was waiting to get to the end to tell you how absolutely fantastic you are...but patience isn't my strong point. I'm not a smut fan...and I say that to say this...I read your words and i catch myself not breathing.

Finally a story that didn't end in heartbreak loved it! I loved this story I was so happy when Aiden killed Shirah I'm yeah you go boy! and something tells me Aiden might a little crush on Akiko. Can truly see a sequel coming from this hopefully or at least a aftermath after Riddick finally awakes from slumber, but anyway loved the story and also loved the smut whohoo smut for the wind lmao.

Oh I loved this chapter and is loving this story I hope it doesn't turn out depressing because a lot of Riddick fanfiction will trick into thinking this story is so sweet and happy then bam! sad ending usually in character death or Riddick leaving his love ones an dnever returning ugh I hate that! But what I do love is the sweet sweet revenge Riddick placed upon that crazy bitch! I was like no she didn't!Jesamine such a hater I'm like bitch find your own man, man I only wished that Nicola could killed that bitch but I like the way Riddick handled it great job with this story!
| DarkDreamer1982 chapter 22 . 4/5/2010
I loved this fanfic. Now you have to write first Jack's story and then Aiden's. We already know he ends up with Akiko, but who will Jack find?
| Mrstrentreznor chapter 22 . 1/19/2010
I enjoyed the story - i agree with the idea that Furyans would mate on a smell/instinct level - it's tempting to think that Riddick could be looking for the same things we all our; a family and a place to call our own
is he royalty? guess becoming lord marshall of the necros would make him alpha dog
pity Nicola didn't get pregnant in the hot springs - now that would have been a formidable child - guess a third would have killed her -
so what happens when all the lost lambs come home?
| AJ chapter 10 . 10/27/2009

| NefariousImp chapter 22 . 9/21/2009
Absolutely perfect, nothing I'd change. I like 'Puppy', I actually have a cat that is more dog than cat...he doesn't even purr! From beggining to end every detail was perfect. Can't give a better review than 'perfect'. lol
