Oh, gosh, so many things I could say...first and foremost, this almost made me cry with its beauty. Seriously. I was tearing up. I LOVE how, at its core, Calvin is still himself, just with more of the disillusioned teenage angst. I love Susie's characterization, heck, I even love Jessica's batcrap craziness just because it's THAT VIVID. I love how Hobbes is still there, but in the background, like Calvin really did leave most of his childhood behind. Spot-on and absolute perfection.

I will ask this: what happened with Hobbes at the end? Or is it just the point not to know?

It's... truly touching. Beautiful.

I teared up quite a bit while reading this, I admit. This may be one of the best stories I've read on this site.

I love the imagery of fire that repeats throughout the story. It really just brings it all the pieces together. That and how it was written in the present tense, which makes it even more unique, and yet, I can't imagine it in the past tense like a lot of other authors write in. Great job!

I never read long fanfics. Ever. But once I started this story, I couldn't stop. I sat here for at least a half-an-hour, reading this story through two glasses of tea and endless slices of pizza.

You managed to capture not only the essence of Calvin, but a mature Calvin, and a mature Susie. Heck, you captured the essence of "Calvin & Hobbes." That is, this story was heartwarming, sometimes piercing, sometimes life-affirming, always poignant. This would have been fantastic even if it wasn't a fanfiction. You have writing chops that I admire, envy, and aspire to.

I'm going to be very honest with you. This story made me cry. It just works so well with Bill's characters and then you make them grow up and it is just beautiful. I love how even though Calvin has gone through so much, he is still so idealistic. He still dreams and believes. I love how you have Susie grow up so perfectly. Needless to say, this is the best story I've ever read on Fanfiction.
You can make me feel emotions that even the best books can't make me feel. I felt as though I was a part of their world. The fire theme was very cool as well and I liked how you used it throughout the whole story.
I nearly cried when Susie's house burned down.
Overall, really, REALLY good. You have amazing talent in writing.
