![]() ![]() ![]() This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful story I've read on this website, or any other, in my entire life. Seriously, I don't even know what to say. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Wow...just wow...I'm trying to write a review right now but I can't find the words. Just...wow. Everything is just so spot on with your characterization and they way you build upon the younger personalities. Just...wow |
![]() ![]() ![]() ...Wow. WOW. There are tears in my eyes as I type this. This just might be the best fanfic I've ever read in my entire life. What an incredible story. Beautiful imagery; spot-on, in-depth character development... everything flowed so well, and with so much emotion it felt real. This is dramatic, poignant, and sophisticated, and so full of life and feeling, while still staying true to the Calvin and Hobbes of my childhood. I applaud you for this. I really do. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I absolutely LOVE your story. You made the characters so realistic. And you aged both of the two kids perfectly. Ten years! Ten years, you skipped and I still felt like I was reading the old comics I used to. I loved this story so much, just the right amount of drama and fluff and perfect. I loved every bit of it even without the flawless writing skills. You are an amazing writer. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have read many, many fanfictions on this site over the last few months (a testament to my addictive personalty), but this was one of the first I read, and it is in fact the most well-written, thoughtful, beautiful, and life-affirming fanfic I have read to date. It also hits incredibly close to home for me, because you turned Calvin into someone almost exactly like my little brother, who had a downward spiraling ex-girlfriend named Jessica who was younger than him, always shunned the academic world, was excellent with children, and definitely was like Calvin as a child. When I first read your fic, it was 3 weeks after he had passed away at the age of 17 from an overdose, he always complained that he didn't want to be railroaded into the college-academia-good grades track. I was always angry at him for not studying, he was brilliant, but he wasn't the school subject type. I was still angry at him after his death, he died stupidly, rebelling for what I thought was no reason against a perfectly reasonable request that he pass high school. Silly as it may seem, the ending of your fic made me find some measure of meaning in his life, realizing that there was a perfectly livable alternate outside the trope of school-school-job. That brought me some measure of peace, and I thank you for it, even though it was unintentional. Aside from my overwhelmingly melodramatic baring of my soul, your characters are perfectly and utterly human, and your writing draws me into their lives as if I am breathing the same breaths as they are. You are an excellent writer. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I absolutely love this story. It has drama, romance and made my heart ache for the characters. Great work! |
![]() ![]() ![]() As I was reading this I imagined that this would be what would happen if calvin and hobbes was made into a drama. Needless to say I loved it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story was sad. oh so very sad. it made me cry. i loved it. calvin's personality was perfect. I can't believe that you fit so much into one chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() this is a really brilliant story. It sounded like it was made by a proffesional writer |
![]() ![]() ![]() Eh, nothing I really enjoyed. Made me cry to think of hobbes, speechless. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is a heart-breakingly beautiful story. I have to admit that at first I doubted that anyone could do justice to Calvin & Hobbes, let alone write a convince piece of Calvin/Susie fanfiction. But wow, you blew me away. Calvin's a messed up sweetheart and Susie's just as sensible and romantic as she should be. I love how you expanded on their personalities but managed to stay true to the characters that I grew up with. I also love love love the repeating imagery of fire. The way Calvin's fear/fascination with fire is resolved at the end is just amazing. "He kisses her and she clings to him, makes his skin burn until he's not afraid of fire anymore." Wow. Wow. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This may be one of the best stories I've read on this site. I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful it was. Calvin and Susie were just how I imagine they would be when they grow up, and I loved the fact that he still slept with Hobbes. I applaud you for this amazing story. |
