The Alpha 100 chapter 5 . 7/11/2021 i don't think your assessment of why you believe the hat considered harry for slytherin is false,it might've influenced a bit butI think anyone raised under abusive situations,no matter how small, are shoe in for slytherin as they rightly have to use their cunning to navigate their encounters as to not trigger their handlers |
Jo chapter 47 . 7/6/2021 Thanks so much for a very enjoyable story! |
MultiShipper chapter 22 . 6/24/2021 I think it was a good choice to put Harry in Hufflepuff, I think he will flourish there. |
MultiShipper chapter 7 . 6/23/2021 I love the movie Dogma, I was going to ask if that was where you got it before I saw your A/N. Did you use that line specifically because the Metatron was played by the same author that played Snape in the HP movies, or was it just coincidence? |
Krishna Pandit chapter 6 . 6/20/2021 Snape is a little OOC, yes, he could explain things. But maybe he was portrayed that way in the canon to show his shady character. But I still don't like it, that why was he made into a bad teacher if he was an ambiguous person. Moreover, if he could have been a little charming and decent, he would have gone a long way. He wasn't very Slytherin-ish to behave the way he did in the canon, by antagonizing others. Anyway, this is an AU so its okay. |
Guest chapter 2 . 6/19/2021 OH GOSH! I don't know why I get so excited at these Severus/Harry mentor fics. |
Beauty Eclipsed chapter 47 . 6/18/2021 Loved the plot! |
Guest chapter 47 . 6/7/2021 Just read the author's biography. As some of the recent reviews have been highly critical (including my previous ones) I must inform you all that the writer has passed away in 2016 and it is quite disrespectful to be insulting their work posthumously... I retract my snippy statements on syntax, of course. At this rate perhaps it's better to filter ratings as not everyone bothers to read biographies of authors... |
Guest chapter 35 . 6/7/2021 I personally think you use the word astonished too often. It's like your pet word or something and it's getting irritatingly obvious how often it shows up. The syntax is generally lovely but sometimes I think you make Harry act too brash and spoilt (as ironic as that is) considering his background...ESPECIALLY since the Dursleys actually abuse him physically. He should be far less assertive than this by standard human psychology... |
Guest chapter 16 . 6/6/2021 Eugh. I know there's a thing where childlike innocence is a thing, but if you're gonna use abuse tropes he can't be that gullibly stupid. To match Canon, where he didn't even get spanked much less beat black and blue, yet was still invariably suspicious and constantly on edge... This just doesn't match up. I think the only accuracies you've got here are Snape's perspectives... |
Guest chapter 15 . 6/6/2021 Er... How the hell do eyes wobble in fright? Are we saying Neville is a zombie and when he's scared he shakes so hard his eyeballs shake too in their sockets? How revolting. |
Lyfs chapter 14 . 6/6/2021 well, the hugging self part was super cringe, but I think the story is going well and accurately so far. |
Myste chapter 7 . 6/5/2021 Well, that was strangely cathartic. I am in no way as abused as Harry in this fic, for sure, but there is something about having a bad day and then reading something as wholesome as villains (for this story, not by canon) getting their comeuppance proper and then the victim being blessed with what they should have had in the first place. Great work! |
Myste chapter 3 . 6/5/2021 Well, that was a shockingly virulent (if I used that word properly...) description of the Dursleys. While they are quite repugnant people, I am not necessarily of the opinion that they are wholly irredeemable. Dudley reformed somewhat, didn't he? Then, there might be a chance his father was once the same, with terrible role models that spoilt him into a skewed perspective of privilege. Also, the novelizations do explicitly mention that Petunia always felt like she was living in Lily's shadow, which you did capitalize on here. But I don't think the abuse concept is necessarily true - it seems to be an overused fanfiction trope than anything. In the series, the most abuse heaped on Harry really seems to be emotional and the occasional smack than anything. Besides, if he were abused he'd be far more jumpy and cynical (as snippy as he is in canon) than he is actually portrayed as. Still, a great job nonetheless! Even if this is an "abused" (pun intended) trope, it is brilliantly integrated into the fabric of the plot and accompanies the general thought processes of one Severus Snape quite well. Some people OOC him so badly that you'd think they were trying to rewrite the series, but this takes plenty of canon material and uses it fluently in a new light. Looking forward to reading all of this! |
