Has anyone told you what a brilliant writer you are?

This last chapter was beautiful - I love this relationship between Jack and Renee.

I really hope you decided to conintue with this. Really, REALLY hope. Will there be more?

What a chapter! Seriously! I was going to comment on some of my favorite lines, but there are so many I wouldn't know where to start. Here are a few that I especially liked:

"And while he would love to have them around now- in some cases to hold tighter and love deeper, in others to simply treat better and know more purposefully—they are victims of his past. Victims of his life."

- What a depressing thought. I wonder how many times he's let this though cycle through his brain. If only, if only...

"He can deal with the burden of killing hundreds of bad guys, even those guys who weren’t necessarily bad people they were just defiant at an inopportune time. Of course, we use “guys” loosely because you all remember her."

- I think Nina Meyers should be a bad word

"But being alive and being happy are two different things. She learned to be both without him, to a degree. But she was still his, and it sucks being an orphan when you dad is still alive. Worse yet, it sucks being an orphan when your dad chooses to die—the path Jack was well on his way down when she finally found him last night. "

- Kim, you may not be my favorite character, but my heart does go out to you. Her life has sucked, but things seemed to have turned a corner and it looks like they may be looking up, even if for just a short while.

"To try and be miserable does a disservice to the loves of his life that he has lost. It jeopardizes his opportunity to be a dad to Kim again. It requires him to forfeit another chance at love. Avoiding love is one sure way to stay miserable. And he doesn’t want that."

- Renee, I'm glad you came a long. Go for it Jack!

What an amazing first chapter! At first I thought this was just a one shot, so I was very excited to find that there are more chapters (5 so far!) and that the story will continue!

Loved the scene at the beginning where Renee is doing dishes while she decompresses from the day. There is something mindnumbing and "therapeutic", as you said, about housework.

Also loved the cute conversations between her and Jack - I'm glad he decided to stop by.

I thought this was a K rated fic? Wow. You might want to consider changing to T because it is misleading. Oh well, it was really good and I've read it before but this time the fourth chapter really stuck out to me. This whole thing was beautifully written, but I loved the way you described their emotions as they were dancing. I can't relate, I'm in seventh grade, but it must feel so good to Jack to hold Renee in his arms like that. To feel a relationship like that; that deep. Oh, but in chapter 2 or 3, did you have to bring up Audrey?
