I like the inclusion of canon people like Angela. Jacob (even in the book) is a character that I really don't like, so I'm not surprised at his actions.

Great story! Thoughtfully and beautifully written. I really enjoyed the character growth. Excellent AU adaption.

Just a procedural note here. Jacob is facing criminal charges, and the prosecutor would represent the government (which is a reason why the victim’s cooperation isn’t necessary for prosecution). The sentencing would be jail, parole, community service, fines, etc. Bella also has the option to sue in civil court, and there an attorney would represent her and seek damages. They aren’t the same thing proceedings or cases and nor are they in the same court. I’m happy to live in the story, but you seem detail oriented, so I’m thought you might want to know for future stories. Enjoying the book so far!
