Wow this is another chapter that I will always consider canon. I loved the sharp contrasts between the two men's personalities, and yet how a friendship is forged between them.

How naive and ignorant Dan is to Rorschach's loyalty to justice, and how in many ways it is his master...Beautiful job once more.

Okay its official this chapter to me will always be canon. It filled in all the blanks and gave so much more. I loved how you melded everything together without ever straying from the truth of their personalities or the situation Eddie finds himself in.

I have to say I love that he doesn't excuse his behavior he knows he's a trainwreck. At the same time I love that subtle undertone of naivity. How a part of him always believes that Sally could have saved him from himself. That their daughter was in essence everything they both wanted but could never have...

Awesome. And thats the best part of the song. Very appropriate.

I love Dan's emotions in this - he feels sorrow, but it's ultimately of his own making (which makes it a little bit worse). I think the reactions to his unmasking and the comments about Dreiberg's boy wre my favorite parts. Way to end on a high note. :)

Aaw! Dan is so cute! Of course he'd view himself as a knight, lol. And I liked the recall of "Drei Danburg." That always makes me giggle.

I absolutely loved the last line! It's a perfect ending for this. The whole story fits so well with the Watchmenverse! I think I'll probably start confusing this with canon when I reread Watchmen (if a certain creeper ever gives it back to me, lol).

I love the use of Leonard Cohen lyrics to inspire the story, but I think you should check your facts: this verse was most definitely written by Leonard Cohen himself when he wrote the original poem. You can find it in "Stranger Music; Selected Poems and Songs" published in 1993, it is also recorded live in 1988 and put on the 1994 album "Cohen Live" from there the same version was put on the album "More Best of Leonard Cohen" released in 1997. This is probably my favorite version of the song, simply because it feels a little more rough around the edges than the original recording. listen to it, and keep writing!

amazing. the first chapter was already very good, but i feel this subject was harder, and you handled it beautifully. you managed to keep the characters believable and show them in all their warped complexity. you even made me feel for eddie, without making him a weaker character or excusing his actions. compliments!

Very emotional and beautiful, in a grim way.

This chapter made me incredibly happy and sad at the same time. My favorite line: “Use a goddamn sentence for once, Rorschach!” I laughed SO hard when I read that, I even cried a little! But then I read further and cried for not-happy reasons. This was amazing! Rorschach's voice was perfect, especially towards the end when Dan says he'll become just like the criminals he kills.

Aaww, just one more chapter? Phooey. But I can't wait for Dan's turn! I'm super excited for that! :D

Another fantastic chapter, I am always amazed by your insight. Laurie is one of the most unappreciated characters I feel, and I like how your characterized her. Now the next chapter is one I cannot wait to see!
