So, apparently, I'm a big fat liar.

I told you I was re-reading this back in May 2021, and that I would be reviewing ALL THE CHAPTERS I missed. Pshaw. What a freaking butthole I am.

Well, I'm doing it now. I honestly don't know if I had made it through the last round (my memory is really not what it used to be, which is kind of terrifying) but I've got some serious incentive (aka new chapters) to get there this time!

Geez... I'm so embarrassed, after I wrote such a flowery dedication to you back in 2021 about my searching and searching for this fic. It was ALL TRUE. I SWEAR. Don't let my shitty actions take away from my words. I meant every word. There really is a special room in my brain for this fic and the feelings and nostalgia it evokes.

Okay, all that confessional vomit aside, this chapter...

Well, for one, I'm really for them awaking in a passionate embrace for the next chapter - voluntary or involuntary-via-sleep, I don't care.

I'm still perplexed to this day about Edward's backstory. I know you revealed SOME things when I last read it, but for the life of me, all the details slipped away from my sieve of a brain. So, if I had any answers before, I'm absolutely clueless all over again. Really, truly clueless too. Like I've got a million ideas on possibilities and I know they're all wrong, hahaha.

Still, I'm so glad HOW you wrote this story. I think it is the reason it resonated with me so strongly. We're given such a meticulous, slow curtain spread on big things that it allows us to become completely and utterly attached to each character, and this place they're in. So crafty, I tell you! This story just slips into your mind and heart like a thief in the night and slowly takes over, permeating everything.

These two. Man oh man. But I can kind of understand Bella getting a bit upset with him. She did spill her guts in the ER (both literally and figuratively, lol). I have a feeling his backstory is going to be quite a bit more to swallow than hers (not that hers isn't traumatic), possibly fantastical, so I can understand both why he is more secretive and also why she would be upset about that secretiveness.

What a fabulous spin on the Port Angeles scene from Twilight. Fabulous as in creative... not fabulous what happened. Way to go E, beating up 3 guys.

And Grrrrrrr, Phil. She has so much obvious trauma from that and I'm wondering how much, if anything, Charlie is aware of and if she's had any real psychological treatment after that.

Man, I thought I knew this story but it's been a lot longer than I imagined I guess! Like reading for the 1st time all over again, though, so it's a WIN-WIN for me!

I also enjoy so much the slow unfolding of this story. I think thar is what added to the overall emotions for me. The set up gets you fully and completely immersed.

Still reading... and excited to re-discover what's with Edward's evasiveness. My only guess is that he's ALREADY involved in vamps somehow... whether he was witness to something, or one of his family was turned, so so curious... and hoping I didn't already review this chapter so it will post!

I'm not sure if I ever left reviews on my first reading of this ages ago, so I'm just going to try on the chapters that will let me.

I'm so excited to dig back into this story! Please feel free to hmu if you're actively writing and would like any feedback or anything! As I've mentioned before... this story gives such STEONG nostalgia to me... not just for being a memorable twific (an obviously nostalgic past time for me), but the overall mood, setting, feelings that this story evoked for me.

Still trying to figure out if any of the vamps are good guys here. Sounds like they've gotten themselves in the middle of a vamp war of some sort. I suspect Jacob Black would be very interested in what happened to Edward, along with the jacket showing up. I'm betting Charlie isn't going to be able to stay away for too long. Of course, being a long time resident, he may well be aware of some strangeness in the area as well. And that police rookie is an idiot.

I'll be looking forward to whatever comes next.

So, I saw people exclaim in excitement about the return of this story. I missed it the first time around. I had to check it out since it seemed to come with glowing recommendations. Oh, my goodness! It is fantastic! I absolutely love it! It has the right mix of humor, drama, suspense! I am so thrilled with it! And this chapter has ended with me just about feeling the goosebumps.

What a treat, another chapter so soon.
