| Zelara chapter 6 . 6/22/2011
Curses in the Nextwave comic were represented by a row of four skull and crossbones symbols. I haven't found any symbol like it in the various types for word.

... Brilliant. AbsoXXXXXXXlutely brilliant.
I've only heard little about Nextwave over the years, and that has fostered a curiosity which led to my recent purchase of the "Ultimate Collection" (which has yet to arrive from Amazon, whom I'm convinced is a subsidiary of the Beyond Corp., lol). That being said, now that I've read this chapter of the story, I MUST read more of this arc! Nextwave and Ranma's interactions and the humor of it all is just so brilliant, I can't help but love it :D.
Well, I hope your writer's block clears. Believe me when I say, I know how that is all too well (mine's been going on for a couple months sadly). Good luck with the rest of this story and your others. Stay safe out there, stay awesome, and keep up the excellent work, my friend!

Efron's dice isn't as illogical as you might think it is. It isn't a set of four dice where upon rolling them A beats B which beats C which beats D which beats A, like an Escher staircase.
A has two thirds chance of beating B (one third of losing)
B has two thirds chance of beating C
C has two thirds chance of beating D
D has two thirds chance of beating A
But one of those will always be the highest. And one third losing is still frequent enough to see it happen a lot.
For example, Let us say A beats B beats C. now D could beat A and be highest of all or lose to C and A is highest of all. o But A could lose to B sometimes, B can be the highest value. Or sometimes C. Roll all four and one will win.
If compare the dice to all the others, and not the next one down the line, A has a 13 out of 27 chance to win, B and D both have one half the chance of winning, and C has a 14 out of 27 chance of winning. For a spread of 1 out of 27, the difference from half and half is not great (A being 1 over 54 less then 0.5 and C being the same amount over 0.5). Each has roughly one half the chance of winning. However, the difference is significant enough that over the course of many many rolls, Dice C is the preferred one to have, or bet upon, or whatever, if many rolls are being played.
I don't think Efron's dice, or even Miwin's dice, are 'puzzeling' enough to include with the likes of Klein bottles and other impossibilities. They are actually real dice you can play real games with, after all.
