|Reviews for Unseen Heroes|
| Hundley chapter 4 . 5/27
This is one of your older stories that I just caught. Absolutely fantastic. I didn't realize that your older ones were still posted here, and there are several I haven't read. Off to read and enjoy me some lovely Dean Winchester. You have him down perfectly, and I always love to see an outsiders view of the brothers.
| Guest chapter 4 . 12/5/2014
Eugene is hysterical! Very nicely done. And I loved the scene where Dean gets blown off his feet by his own rifle. I can SO see that!
| CD57 chapter 4 . 6/19/2011
This one was perfect. I loved Eugene, it was really working well with him talking and Sam talking and Dean going crazy. I loved it that Dean was actually missing him a bit in the end. Thanks for writing.

that was simply awesome! I can't remember that my love ever grew for someone who was dissolving into ugly pieces with each new hour, but it's different with Eugene :-) I loved him more and more until the end, and he became such a hero together with the Winchesters. (BTW: I know what you mean: American Werewolf - wonderful movie, so funny) His interaction with Sammy, as lonely as it was for Eugene, was such a gift for the story - all the more, of course, his wonderful exchange with Dean. No wonder he's going to miss him (I do!).
Again I'm full of admiration how you managed to give every reader what he needs: action, suspense, pain and suffering, a deeper understanding of the boys and most of all loads of humor. My Kudos for the fighting scenes, especially the last one in the hangar.
I guess the way Manuelito treated his son could've left Dean with some interesting questions – I mean: it reminded me so much of Dean and how he always tried to keep Sam from going into the wrong direction, no matter what (just that Sam chose his way nonetheless, even though he had the best intentions...). And: Aaaahhhh – screech owl. I'd never thought of Manuelito ;-)
Aw, such a cute end at the Four Corners Monument. I so chuckled about the boy showing Dean how he can get a limb in every corner. That could've been me. Thank God, my inner child is so alive sometimes. And the last lines? I'd love to say that to me every single hour… live now, don't wait for the right moment or the right circumstances or the right someone. Do it. What can I say? Sometimes it works, sometimes it ain't, but it's so true. If there's ever a happy end for the Winchesters, this is it.
Thank you so much for generously sharing this wonderful story with us. I'm up and away to search me the next one :-)

Hey there Gaelic,
oh, I enjoyed your second chapter as much as the first one. It's such a great idea to have Eugene as a main character in this story, he is so cute and funny and wonderfully sarcastic. I think he takes his new... appearance with great dignity (most of the time), unless he's poking around and tearing himself apart (yuk!). By the way: did you ever watch "Ugly Americans"? He reminds me so much of the roommate of that guy, hehe :-)
Aw Dean: that's so you: don't tell nobody that you're hurt – just suffer in silence. Hnnngh!
So: Dean is being haunted by Eugene? That's a first, and a brilliant one too! And I gotta say: if I'd ever be haunted, I'd like someone like Eugene. The banter between him and Dean is so great, I stopped to count my favorite lines, there are too many of them :-) I guess it wasn't easy to make him visible (and audible!) to Dean, but not to Sam - and it's so hilarious to read how Sam reacts to Dean's interactions with Eugene. Friggin great.
Ah, wonderful: the part in the Indian reservation - and the Shaman who can see Eugene. (Manuelito: "He was killed... violently" - Eugene: "This guy doesn't miss a thing." Wuahaha - nice!) And the ceremony, with all of them singing, hehe - oh, I would've loved to see that on the screen.
I love the way Eugene is sort of a sympathetic bystander, who reflects the relationship of the brothers from the outside and comments it - perhaps it would help if Dean wasn't such a stubborn son of a gun ("Hide? I don't hide. ... That's protection." Yeah whatever, Dean :-)
AWESOME last scene in the desert (hey: it's the screech owl, right? The skinwalker? Making out their position? Supernatural drone, nice...) Sam and Eugene jumping in front of Dean to protect him? Loved that image very much! Too bad Dean couldn't see it.
I'm in for the third chapter - let's get the SOB!
Kudos my dear :-)

Hey storyteller :-)
See? It didn't take me long to find another wonderful story of yours. And I was hooked right from the start – not only because I simply love stories with native americans (let's be correct, for the sake of the wonderful and all too soon deceased Eugene...), no, the whole first chapter is like... oh, so promising, and thrilling, funny, and surprising - yeah, all together!
Loved the mysterious and nearly poetic first scene - with the old man and his memories, the ritual and his cruel death - and how it turns out it's a all according to a terrible plan. And then the lines of his son... already revealing what he might have in common with Dean. Awesome!
Chance has it that I can imagine the setting very well, since I traveld through Arizona so many years ago (early 80th, I suppose) with my parents and 2 brothers - and the Monument Valley with it's indian canyons was so impressive, I'd love to see it again. So sweet, Sammy having this secret dream of Utah ;-) And the cute bantering between them. And Dean remembering how John showed him how to dance - aw, good old times...
You know, I somehow like your idea, that Sam chose becoming a lawyer because he wanted people to know that he helped them. It's so... human. It's not all noble and selfless (how we perhaps would have liked him so see), but it makes him so much more likeable.
When Eugene arrives in his somehow ridiculous outfit I really had to laugh, thinking of one of the last episodes and Dean so keen on getting the right accessories ;-) "My friends call me Clint". Oh Eugene :-( **Sniff** And why does it always have to end so bad when Dean get's in his motherhen mode and swears to protect someone who can't be saved. It hurts!
Wonderful dialogues everywhere in between, too many to count them.
Awesome bad-wolf action - and Eugene trying to help, the little wannabe Clint, actually being a hero, if only for a minute.
Back at the hotel, and again I loved the details that make your stories so vivid, Eugene's toiletries organized by size, for example. ROFL. Well, and then you got me - I'd never expected Eugene coming back - I'm not sure yet what it means, perhaps he's going to be a spiritual leader to Dean, who has also been injured by the shapeshifter (or whatever it is)... in any case it's such a great idea. I'm utterly curious what's going to happen next.
Hope RL is alright right now, dear.

I enjoyed this story so much, hon. Our Sam and Dean, a lot of hurt, a bit of comfort, a skinwalker and EUGENE. Can't ask for more than that. Loved this to pieces. Thank you for keeping this available for us late-comers. : )

What the hell?
I never commented? Oww, shucks. And I so love this fic - I even had to ask the storyfinders to tell me who wrote it - cause I forgot (you see me in tears!)
Anyway, I put you in my little treasure-box, so it won't get lost again (oh, I might have read it printed, in the VS... No excuse for not reviewing, though)
I loved Eugene, I was thrilled by the plot - did I tell you how I loved Eugene?
Ok, sorry. Since it has been some time since I read it, I have to stop now with this, cause I might start talking bulls*it. So, just remember the gist: I LOVE this fic. And Eugene.
And everything else you wrote. And will write, probably ;-)
| Katharra chapter 2 . 7/20/2009
This could seriously be an episode. I love Eugene ("playing with the flap of skin on his neck"); definitely one of the best characters you have ever created!
| PADavis chapter 4 . 6/12/2009
This was incredible. Such a pleasure to read. Thank you so much! And I see ch 1 of Desolation Angels up and I can't wait for a great S1 fic.
| PADavis chapter 2 . 6/12/2009
Just a fantastic chapter - love Eugene more than I can say. And Dean's reaction to him is priceless.
| PADavis chapter 1 . 6/11/2009
My jaw hit the floor when I realized that this was still waiting in my inbox. I am in wuv with this first chapter. Amazing details, Eugene *g*, Dean reminiscing, family life, the brother bonding... dang if VS doesn't have more brother bonding than canon. Sighs. Love them both. Love this exceptionally much.
Will be back for the next three but have to beta a fic. Next chapter will be my reward! Seriously.
| charis-kalos chapter 4 . 5/23/2009
Oh, great ending. I hope Eugene's family find someone to edit and publish his book, because Eugene deserves his immortality. And I love the happy moment of the boys at the end - even if it has made me suddenly want a hotdog.
| charis-kalos chapter 3 . 5/22/2009
Dean knocked himself out with his shotgun? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. The interaction between Eugene and Dean is wonderful, as is the sort-of-bonding between Eugene and Sam through Dean. I can imagine Sam and Eugene talking together for hours about whys and wherefores - it's a pity they didn't get a chance when Eugene was alive.
| charis-kalos chapter 2 . 5/21/2009
I really, really like Eugene! He doesn't deserve to be a ghoul, even if it is giving him amazing insight into the life of the Winchesters. And Dean's low self-esteem and lack of self-care is really getting to me. It makes no sense. Dean knows that Sam is brilliant. Sam thinks that Dean is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Why doesn't Dean trust his brilliant brother's opinion?
