I'm guessing she was sliding down the banister? Lol! I wouldn't have been embarrassed... I'd have invited him to take a turn... then gone back to the top, to try it again, when snubbed... (note: this was true when I was Kagomes age, and is still true now that I'm 40... incidentally, the first thing I'd have been checking on the grounds, would be to see if I could find a climbing tree, to read books in, as well).

Words can never describe how much I love how you wrote Kagome! She's perfect, and that's not to say she's a flawless Mary Sue. She's impulsive, a little naieve at times, hint of a temper. But she's also compassionate, observant, I love the subtleties of her asking after Sesshoumaru, about his desires and hopes not as her "butler" but as Sesshoumaru. Like why not use your claws? It's what you always used? It's a brilliant how you show the strength of her character without telling it and why I reread this story about once a year.
