Hi Linda. I just saw you put this up here and just have to tell you how wonderful it is. You can always say so much with so little. You have a great talent for that. It's enviable. I have goosebumps after reading this. Little Estel is such a caring child, wanting his mother to be well, and to take care of her. "Did Master Elrond tell you to choose those leaves...?" "No, they called to Estel." That gave me the chills. It is as if his future is already chosen for him, and very slowly pushing him down it; which it is, but I like the sense of mysticism you put here, which surrounds it. At least he is learning about important things such as Athelas for healing, but not in the general sense of the term here. And he is so *young*! Just think of all that he has to learn and deal with in his life, on his way to becoming Aragorn. Excellent short fic, Linda! I love it!
