I just found this exquisite story. So gentle and soft and full of emotion. You packed so much into it, revealing feelings and thoughts that Spock had never expressed before. Thanks for putting it all together so well. H

This is one of my favorite of your pieces. It's sweet and sad and lovely and yet, feels unfinished. Does he survive? Is this the same heart condition his father had? Does Skylar know who her father is? Will they meet?
Will we get the rest of the story?

Really enjoyed reading this :)

Thanks. You showed great mastery in mixing past memories, dreams and present scenes in this chapter. The narration is never boring, in fact it is very moving and emotionally deep.
Spock shows great courage in "deciding" to go on living, in spite of his terrible discoveries...
I hope this story might have a sequel.
| aurado chapter 6 . 1/29/2012
Grand' Mere'never stopped loving you." "Why didn't you come to find her?"
A terrible question indeed...
Poor Ambassador, I really heartily pity him...
But at the same time, it also appears Christine Chapel was a very proud woman as well.
Surprise me with the next chapter!

I had not read the story so far.
I feel really sorry for Spock. It seems he has lost much and has realized too late.
Very intense description of his emotional reaction.
| aurado chapter 3 . 1/29/2012
That's it! Christine Chapel's grandaughter! I had lost this story and I'm pleased I found it again. I am re-reading with great pleasure.
| aurado chapter 2 . 1/29/2012
Wow, is there a mistery behind this young woman? Amanda? And with startingly blue eyes?
I'm longing to know!

Thank you for finishing this story and giving me the answer as to why Christine would not tell Spock she was pregnant. It was bittersweet.
| geriatricfool chapter 7 . 1/29/2012
This was a wonderful conclusion to the story. I was completely engrossed and completely convinced throughout. it was heartbreaking, and especially so near the end when he wept over his vision of Christine. Very clever to bring in an conversation with his mother from Babel which frightened her off bringing a child to Vulcan. If only she'd told him! thank you for concluding this excellent story.

Wonderful ending. I put off getting ready for something we are leaving to go to in about an half-hour to finish reading this. It was worth it. It was worth the wet hair.
Great job and there's room for more. Maybe meeting the daughter, even.

Such a sweet( and bittersweet)charming story. This new chapter brings a real sense of resolution to the whole thing while still leaving room for a sequel. Excellent!

Amazing story, great chapter. I really enjoy your plot. Spock meeting his grandchild years after his relationship with Christine Chapel. Amanda seems to be a great person and I'd love to see her mother's reaction to finally meeting her father. It's a pity that Christine and all the others are dead, but humans have a shorter life-span than vulcans. Great chapter and I'm glad that you've published a new chapter.

Okay, first off this is an excellent story, I have so much trouble reading these days without my mind drifting off, but I pushed into it and then lost myself in it. Best line of the piece (among many good ones) - “He found it ironic that he was a legend simply because he had outlived almost everyone that he had ever cared about.”
Yes, when I got to the end I expected there to be another chapter. I'm not saying there *should* be another chapter. It might help to put a couple of returns and then THE END just to make it clear. Some stories do have to end on uncertainty. But that said, I would like to know what happened in their past - but that may be another story :-)

"My grandmother's name was Dr. Christine Chapel." - I didn't expect that! I thought she might be related to Spock's mother! Excellent!
