|Reviews for Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird|
| EclipsedbyJacob chapter 5 . 10/18/2009
Interesting insight into Kate's mind. Trying to play the mommy role...It's actually kind of sweet. And I liked that after each sister made their attempts for Edward, they accept it without further action. Its nice to see this side of them. I find it even better that you direct the foul feelings where they belong. namely on Irina. Its funny how the hate falls to Tanya, when she never really did anything wrong. Women and their insecurities, right?
Anywho, shouldn't have told me about trophies for reviewing. I'm always good for a couple, but this will make me work harder. And, after all this, I need to read your other story. MSR sounds good on its own, but if I get to see my name on your profile, it will bolster my efforts. What can I say? I'm a glutton for fame...

Elegantly written. I really enjoyed Tanya's perspective!

This was insightful. Never thought he's be in for the protection. Wonder if Edward ever got a glimpse of that?

Found this in LiLa's favs, and find it interesting so far. Let's see what you do with this.

I REALLY do love how we see more of his point of view, as well as the Denali's in this series. And 'Queen Tanya?' nice. And I love this part:
"The girls in the front row squeal as my boy’s skinny pelvis rocks back and forth, and Lilly grinds her teeth together while a soft growl rolls from the back of her throat. Katie pokes her teasingly, and Lilly swats back. They both start giggling, and the people in the row in front of us shoot irritated glances backwards. Tanya leans forward from down the row and raises a warning eyebrow. Katie shoots her a mock salute, and all attention is back on the stage."
Somebody's jealous. XD

I absolutely adored the way that this played out. And I love the absolution of the rule. No Exceptions.
It was interesting to see it from Vasilii's point.
Thank you :)
Another excellent read.

Wow, this was an amazing chapter. I was blown away, but with your style it is no surprise you are an amazing writer.

But then weight of command just got heavier and heavier. First Kate brings in Lilly, then Carmen and Eleazar join us, then the newborn from Rosalie Hale's coven comes under our wing to mature away from the mortal in Rosalie's charge.
The mortal in Rosalie's charge. Another decision of mine that burdened me for a year before it was thankfully taken out of my hands. If I had abstained from informing the Volturi, then they would have had all they needed to say I was abetting the violation of the Rule. However, if I had reported this infraction, I'd be blamed for not “handling” the problem myself. Either way, all of us would have burned. All of us this time, for we'd all seen her.
Thank God that issue “went away” when the Volturi came for her, but who would have ever had seen it resolve in the way that it did? Rosalie was right about that girl. It wasn't just the blindness of love talking: there was more to her than what met the eye.
Much more. Thank God, again, I didn't decide to act then. Destroy Rosalie and her charge? We’re not the Volturi. Not all vampires, nor succubi, for that matter, are hell-bent on destruction. Even if we had destroyed them, though, we would have covered our tracks, of course, ... but, of course, the Volturi would have found out. And when they found out what I had destroyed ... ?
Thank God I was frozen in indecision.
from there we can see more about the ways of the Volturi and I understand that Tanya is more of the leader even if she doesn't seem like it.

I stood, frozen in place by the shock of his audacity. He stunned me! When the shock wore off, I couldn't help it, the laughter took hold of me, and wouldn't let go, even as I returned to the lodge and relayed the story to Esmé. What a delicious little gentlemanly tyke! It would not be far off to say Loki could take lessons from this one.
Wow so Kate can stun and she is as much as infatuated with Edward as her sisters. I love the last part with the stunning. XD

I find that your rendition of Tanya is far easier to stomach than your version of Rosalie or Irene.
I'm impressed by her moral fibre and the fact that she doesn't exactly want the job of leadership.
The Voltuir, they may not wear swastikas but those guys are the original fascists. Bastards.
Is this a tie in with your other story with Rosalie and Bella. You remember what I thought of that one, I'd rather forgett it.
I'll review further if I like this, otherwise I'll PM you my feelings and avoid a public mess.

Well I'd like to know what happens next, and the way you write is just amazing! I don't like Irina much though lol Update when you can, I'll be waiting! You've actually inspired me to start writing a fanfic, so thank you!
| Master of the Boot chapter 3 . 7/8/2009
There is nothing wrong with this chapter, except that it's not my cup of tea.
I see the world through an extremely critical lens and I love to insult everything and drag it through the mud.
This was a great telling of Eleazar's pov and those three Succubi.
I liked the idea of the Great War as a deliberate ploy to sweep away the old world and its supestitions. Even so, I can't imagine humans being a threat to vampires. Perhaps if the humans find out, the Volturi can engineer world war three.

Yes, Irina, she was the one that was burned. And after reading this chapter, I have to say good riddance.
Irina comes across as a singularly unpleasant woman. A narrow minded slut whose sole redeeming quality is the love of her family.
Despite my disdain for the character, this chapter is another example of your exemplary writing style. I just didn't like the character.

I loved this part:
The only thing that will truly satisfy a Spanish man is a Spanish lady, and for me, that Spanish Rose is my Carmen. No offense to my (now) dear sisters, but the cold demeanor of Slovakia ... gracias, no. I always get the feeling that they are sizing me up ... because they are. Carmen always frets over this, but I'll take my Carmen's fiery temper any day over the cold calculation of Tanya or (especially) disdainful Irina or even playful Kate.
And i love how we see more into what had happened in Volterra. And the Volturi. I didn't even know this much about a death of a Volturi member and about Marcus. And I had read the whole series. This is going to be another great little series of yours, geophf. And I look forward to seeing how this turns out. Please don't make it a one where the Volturi destroy this love or in some other variation. XD
