I thought I had read it before, but I was wrong.
It was so wonderful :)
| Born in Armagh chapter 31 . 2/19
This is hard for my to write as I love your work. I generally consider you well researched and engaging. This story though was hard for me. I am Northern Irish. I spent the first 19 years of my life there and my immediate family still lives there and I pop home all the time. My town got obliterated by bombs planted by the IRA twice in my childhood. I went to school with a girl whose cousin and her twin babies were killed in the Omagh bombing. I listened to helicopters as my lullabies during marching season while the false dawn created by petrol bombs and fires acted as my night light. The IRA and all paramilitaries are gangsters not freedom fighters or heros. They control areas with iron fists dealing out their own justice and flooding our streets with drugs. They are murderers. Please don't fall into the Irish American trap as seeing them as heros. No right thinking person in my homeland can stomach it.
| Genevah chapter 9 . 2/17
I'm really enjoying this fic :)
| prrrincess chapter 26 . 2/16
I love how their life as husband and wife is portrayed. It's very realistic how it's not all rainbows and butterflies.
| Noray66 chapter 12 . 2/14
Hey Ro - Am stuck in Philadelphia airport due to the weather, and was in a really foul mood - so decided to re-read Volition for the 3rd or 4th time. I've lost count.
It's still just as incredible as the first time I read it years ago. I said it back then and will say it again - you really need to try to publish your stuff!
| typical chapter 26 . 1/26
I don't know if you read or check your reviews or whatever, but in the chance you do...I want to say thank you for this story.
I read this a couple of years ago for the first time, and now a second time. Each time I read it, it brings tears to my eyes and makes my heart warm.
My family is thoroughly and unapologetically Irish, so its cool to get some back story to the history.
Also, I do love this love story. It makes me long for love like this.
| dpennell007 chapter 31 . 1/18
Fantastic story! This could be your published book - no question.
Loved how Edward would steal Bella away during the night because he couldn't stand being apart from her. Their alone time with their little confessions felt so intimate and real. Even the descriptive church details rang true. Most of all I loved the intensity, the desperate need, and the never ending desire of your lovers along the backdrop of the Troubles. You did a wonderful job of not glossing over the questionable moral choices Edward made.
I finished this the other day, and still find myself thinking about your characters, their lives, and wishing I could take another peek into their future.
| sunflowers13 chapter 12 . 1/16
I really love this! It's different from your other work with the Irish and all but I feel like I'm getting a wonderful history lesson at the same time so bonus for me! Thank you once again for all you do for us. I am beyond grateful for you and all the other fanfiction authors. My life would be a lot less entertaining without all of you for me to follow! I will try to update more I owe that much but I'm guilty of slacking on my reviews so I apologize for that. Until next time take care
| xx It was Her xx chapter 27 . 1/12
I have lived in Belfast my whole life, and while it isn't like this anymore, some people just can't move on
| BellaTesoro chapter 31 . 1/6
I enjoyed this future take of the entire family together for a christening. It seems full circle with them in the center
of the family gathering. It was great seeing Edward's dream of following in his Da's footsteps come to be. And Bella
became a mother of a brood of kids. I can see this Edward thriving with all these children and he does love to live
life to its fullest. Their lives are full indeed.
I never thought I'd be interested with the backdrop setting and conflict of Belfast and the troubled times of the IRA, but I now find myself wondering more about the history of that region and just how it all ended and what the status
of that country's rights are today. I know that this story was realistic fiction, it could have and probably did happen in this some of this manner.
Bravo to you. This was such a solid story, a significant plot and wonderfully multi-demensional characters!
I appreciate your hard work and wonderful style of writing. I wish you continued success in all you do.
| BellaTesoro chapter 27 . 1/6
Oh they are going to have a baby! I'm so happy for them, the baby will connect them with the states, it will be a natural citizen and help make this new land a place they will be able to call HOME. I'm so thrilled also that
Emmett and Rose are with them, they'll have each other and an extended family too and Bella won't have to
go through childbirth without a female to support her.
Now I'm going to wonder what Emmett ended up doing for a living. Did he go back to school like Edward, I wonder.
I'll just make up in my head how they've flourished in this new country and all will be well.
Thank you so much for writing such a well thought out story. It felt so real. For example when Bella said she didn't
always have to see stars herself to feel filled with love with love making. That she was satisfied with just their bodies
joining, and isn't that the truth though. And the details such as making up the spare room but giving the bed to them instead and how they got household items from the goodwill stores and making the best of making a life for themselves and now helping Emmett's family too...
I won't go through all that made this story so special, but you were able to capture the feel of that time, and then the
immigration to the US and how that felt...and of course two wonderful men in Edward and Emmett and the strong and lovely women in Bella, Rose and Alice. This story had made my top list.
Again, I appreciate you keeping it here for reader's such as myself to enjoy it.
| ReefChic7 chapter 27 . 1/6
WOW. This story has the best plot I have ever read on this site. Every moment was phenomenal. I am so sad it is over! I loved learning about the IRA and Ireland, how true you stayed to their heritage and them being Irish, with the dialect and the food. It was just perfect. Brava to you!
| BellaTesoro chapter 26 . 1/6
I'm excited for these two in a new country and them willing and excited for their new adventure. I admire that they
just don't stick it out in Texas as they have at least Alice and Jasper. But no, true to their independent nature they
are going to do it their way, and alone.
Off to read the epilogue.
| tunsia chapter 31 . 1/5
This was a wonderful story! Thank you
| BellaTesoro chapter 25 . 1/5
They are off to the states! I hope they find the peace and safety they need. They didn't say goodbyes to Emmett and
Rose? I hope they can join them at some point and make a little Ireland community for themselves where Alice is.
