Good story.

Eremophobia is the fear of being alone. Autophobia is the fear of being *left* alone. Subtle difference that throws people off all the time. I think having them both is redundant, but apparently the difference is enough for doctors out there.

Also, I think Atychiphobia might fit best. It's the fear of failure. Of course, if you know how the names of phobias are made, then 'Chasimophobia' would be the correct name for 'fear of loss'. It's not an official name, not mentioned in medical journals or anything like that, but 'fear of loss' would be the literal translation of it.

Talk of phobias aside, though, very nice story. I love Stargate one-shots where two or more characters are bantering back and forth...

I love this bit of angsty fluff (is that possible? Apparently so), I'd favorite it if it wasn't for the language. Sorry, I know it's their "style", but it's just not my thing...(

I don't think what you've described is a fear of being alone. I think it's a fear of not being in control of a situation. "..of being in a position where you can’t do anything." If you were trying to make a connection between Sheppards fear of loss of control and a possible underlying fear of being alone you need to make the jump more gradual.

Really liked this, nice friendship between the two of them, particularly with John not letting Rodney get away without saying anything.

And I liked that you showed some of the fallout from doppelganger, I think that things like this really need to be written, there's never enough resolutions on the episodes :)
