Wow, that was powerful. I'm not familiar with "Wide Sargasso Sea," but I'm intrigued now. I might just have to go look it up. Amazing work. I love Rochester's character dynamic and this completely fulfills the image established by Ms. Bronte. Bravo!

I think you've nailed it perfectly.
| BakerStreetIsLastRefugeOfHope chapter 1 . 1/29/2010
A great story. Very well written.
| KAnna chapter 1 . 9/21/2009
That was really beautiful. I think it would be interesting if you extended this piece. It's wonderful and very poetic the way it is. I've just always wondered what Rochester would have thought at the very beginning of his blindness, how he would have coped and adjusted physically and mentally. I think you'd be great at exploring that. :)

wow. I read Wide Saragossa Sea, and you captured it perfectly, as well as Jane Eyre. Ah, brilliantly done.
"I would give my eyes never to have to see this abominable place."
That was also brilliant...I can't quite remember if it's an actual quote, but it fits so well. Great job!
