Dark, angsty, yet full of "stick-that-in-your-pipe-and-smoke-it" hope. Loved it.

Such heart-breakingly beautiful writing. I don't even know what else to say, because it's difficult to pinpoint what to praise when I'm feeling this emotionally overwhelmed by a simple vignette. But that's just the thing: this story *isn't* simple ... it's emotionally complex and lyrical. You have a true gift with words. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us.

I like this. It's so very, very Spike. You've nailed his character down to the very last peroxide strand of hair and internal lovelorn confession. You captured how he's wavering on whether or not to do good for the sake of good, or for the sake of Buffy. You got down his love but also his bitterness. The maps/cartography figurative language was very smooth and fitting to a vignette like this. Good work, and keep writing. I want to read more of your stuff.
